View Full Version : Grandma goes to jail for not watering her grass. desi 07-10-07, 10:54 AM http://www.prisonplanet.com/articles/july2007/090707_a_arrested.htm Better do what the cops tell you to. Or else. darksidZz 07-10-07, 10:57 AM I concur, you see the real crime here :C~ BangBangYou'reDead 07-10-07, 11:16 AM how the hell is that a crime!!!! darksidZz 07-10-07, 11:20 AM how the hell is that a crime!!!! Neglecting lawncare is a serious issue. If people don't properly care for their lawns then pricing of homes will go down in the area, thus people loose money. We must all strive to obey regulations of living, even when we own property and should rightfully be free to do as we please, in this modern age rights are no longer important only the regulatory systems in place :C~ mikenostic 07-10-07, 11:24 AM Let someone come over to my house and try to tell me how to keep my yard. Orleander 07-10-07, 11:25 AM But watering your lawn costs money. We haven't had rain here in quite a while. Everyone is letting their grass die. Its just costs too much and is wasteful of the water we do have. But not cutting your lawn is a ticketable offense, so maybe in some anal areas, not watering is too. Again, cops don't make the rules, they just enforce them. S.A.M. 07-10-07, 11:27 AM They could have just offered to water the lawn. Protect and serve. Orleander 07-10-07, 11:27 AM Let someone come over to my house and try to tell me how to keep my yard. We had a cop stop by our house for having the boat on the lawn on our side yard. Somebody complained about wrecked cars, couches, etc on a guys lawn so he made sure everybody had to move their stuff. mikenostic 07-10-07, 11:28 AM I live in a fairly nice neighborhood. My grass is about a foot high right now (only because I hadn't went to get the mower my mom had for me) and no one has come by to tell me to cut my lawn. I would probably have told them to fuck off if they did. But as soon as I change the spark plug, the yard is getting cut. S.A.M. 07-10-07, 11:29 AM We had a cop stop by our house for having the boat on the lawn on our side yard. Somebody complained about wrecked cars, couches, etc on a guys lawn so he made sure everybody had to move their stuff. Image is everything. Orleander 07-10-07, 11:31 AM I think the BTK serial killer was one who went around making sure grass wasn't over a certain height. And he loved his job. The cop who came to our house was embarrassed and kept apologizing. mikenostic 07-10-07, 11:31 AM We had a cop stop by our house for having the boat on the lawn on our side yard. Somebody complained about wrecked cars, couches, etc on a guys lawn so he made sure everybody had to move their stuff. I'd have put the boat right back where I had it as soon as the fuzz left. Fuck him and the whiny ass neighbor. :D spidergoat 07-10-07, 11:40 AM This is a total strawman. She wasn't arrested for not watering her lawn, she was arrested for not giving her name a resisting a ticket. She should have accepted the ticket and fought it in court like a normal person. After being arrested, Perry is now scared of the police. She says, "Don't ever say no when the police tell you do to something. You better do what they tell you no matter what, even if you don't have anybody to help you. You've got to do what they tell you or they will hurt you." Absolutely goddamn right. She should have accepted the ticket and fought it in court like a normal person. Absolutely goddamn right. But he could have behaved better Edwards says the officer claimed he tried to arrest Perry and that the women slipped and fell, cutting her nose near the front door. But, Perry told reporters that's not what happened. She claims the officer is just trying to, "cover his tracks." Perry says, "He really abused me, brutally abused me." She claims the man slapped her across the face with his handcuffs during the arrest. Edwards says the officer is on administrative leave pending a review of the case." He added, "Clearly there were other options in this situation." mikenostic 07-10-07, 11:49 AM This is a total strawman. She wasn't arrested for not watering her lawn, she was arrested for not giving her name a resisting a ticket. She should have accepted the ticket and fought it in court like a normal person. Absolutely goddamn right. You mean like when the police beat down Rodney King? How much did that little stunt cost the LAPD? 50 some million dollars? S.A.M. 07-10-07, 12:05 PM He really could have behaved better :bugeye: The officer called for backup, because he was driving a truck, and the now-handcuffed Perry was taken to a holding facility in Orem. She was not given water or allowed to wash her hands or call her son, she said. "After being booked, supervisors became aware of the circumstances and immediately released the woman and returned her to her home on the basis that there were other options available to handle this situation besides making an arrest and holding the woman in jail," Orem police Lt. Doug Edwards wrote in the news release. http://www.sltrib.com/news/ci_6319911 |
