    Hi
I have created a high resolution satellite image of Grand Canyon. It is available at

    http://geoforum.siteburg.com/

    Click on "Geology".

    Best regards,

    Magnus

    Which part of his post
It is quite large, ~ 3.8 mb, but it could be worth the wait if you are interested in geology.
    did you not understand?

Yes, the image is quite large but that was also kind of the idea here, to make a high resolution image available.

Yes, I am trying to build a new earth science community, that´s no secret. I have been looking for one for some time now but I was unable to find what I was looking for (a place to discuss all types of geoscience, not just geology or geography or GIS etc.). So, I created a new one. Looking at the traffic, quite a few have had a look. As always, the beginning is the hard part.

My idea was that a handful of members here at this forum might be interested in this approach, with a wide geodiscussion under the same roof. I have not had any other negative feedback and I hope I haven´t stepped on any toes here. I am simply trying to create something that I think people and the development will benefit from. If you have a look at the forum, you will see that I so far have focused on free and open tools (GIS, data sources, satellite images...) that could help spread earth science to a wider audience. I hope that new tools, links etc. will be included as someone adds them.

    Best regards,

    Magnus

Yes. It was obvious and perhaps a little sneaky, but one can easily just ignore the site.
Actually, its not a bad Mission Statement. I think I'll head over there now.
