View Full Version : Goto "Site Feedback", sign petition for a religion forum without tony1 tetra 12-25-01, 05:46 PM well, if you want to then do it KalvinB 12-25-01, 08:17 PM You are a very very sad person. Ben Xelios 12-25-01, 08:42 PM No, tony is a very very sad person. Xerxes 12-25-01, 11:02 PM not me, sorry. tony1 is a part of this forum, and no matter how supid he behaves, its our responsibility as the bigger people to humor him. Now I know it might be asking a little to much because people are only built with so much humor installed......but dont give up. I dislike tony1's tactics as much as the next guy, but this is the religions forums and not the science forums so he's done nothing wrong, by definition that is. So sign the petition if you want to, but I'm gonna stick up for that fool by signing a petition that would deligate sanctity for the MATURE people on this forum (that doesnt include tony1) not by kicking anyone out, but for showing there are people who support tony1. I aint a religion freak and no way in hell a xstian, but I'm not one to boot them out based on their beliefs, just like the nazi's did. BTW, xelios, I just noticed you were from canada, what part? Cris 12-26-01, 01:00 AM I would recommend that those who have problems with tony1 use the ignore list (control panel, edit ignore list). As suggested by porfiry. This has the effect of hiding the body of all posts by tony1. To view a post one must take extra action. The major advantage is that the posts will not be so prominently in ‘your face’. This may help reduce some of the widespread disruption that we have in nearly all threads in the religion forum. Note that it does take your own responses to tony1 to reinforce the disruptions. And his posts are very difficult to ignore so hiding them should help. If you want to positively engage tony1 then don’t take this action of course, if you want to engage him at times of your own choosing and energy then add him to the ignore list and click on those of his posts that you actively want to view. That will by my approach since I do feel that his untypical views do occasionally have some value and are worth studying sometimes. Cris Xelios 12-26-01, 01:03 AM I have already taken that liberty Cris. I admit, tony has as much right to be here as I do. Instead of petitioning for him to be removed, why not simply ignore him. That way, the people that don't mind him can still have "discussions" with him, while the rest of us don't have to put up with him any more. wet1 12-26-01, 01:18 AM I have made mention before that I do not post much in the religion forums. I am well aware that there has been disruption within the religion forums as threads and their topics get torn asunder by the unconventional tactics and posts that Tony1 has employed. Some of his ideas and thoughts is a bit trying to those who wish to continue in a debate on a particular point or subject. I am not in favor of banning Tony1 as I believe he has just as much right to participate in the forums as the next poster. I would support the idea for those who have problems with Tony1 and his methods to put him on their ignore list. That way those who wish to engage Tony1 may do so and those who wish to continue in an on-topic debate will have the chance to pursue their goal. tetra 12-26-01, 04:32 PM hey, I never suggested banning tony1. All I'm suggesting is a forum where people can only argue the topic, not use hundreds of wordplays and trivial meanings. wet1 12-26-01, 08:06 PM Sooner or later it will come down to enforcement. So how you do that when Tony1 does not respond to your demand that he remain on topic? Teg 12-28-01, 12:27 AM Keep him in check with a person whose sole pursuit is to hinder his underhanded tactics. I will volunteer for such a task. As long as he is arguing with me he will have a divided attention. Perhaps then he will respond to what I have said and not a fragmented miswording of my entry. wet1 12-28-01, 11:01 AM From past history as an example, I wish you good luck. |
