Iwas brought up as a strict catholic and i do mean strict, every sunday twice morning and night we would go to church,and when i look back it did me no good as i do not beleave in god i beleave that there might be something after we die but not heaven,i rode with a local group in the 70s and had a saying on my colours,it said/ yes though i walk through the vally of death i will fear no evil,because i carry a big stick and i am the evilist son of a bitch that ever walked in the vally,as i said it did me no good going to church .

Even a fly or an ant may enter a church,but does that mean she will become intelligent or a believer?no.we would believe whatever WE want to believe,and nothing else,isnt it?

Zion/ my family where strict/let me introduce you to my family,my mum got pregnant and my asshole of a father did a runner,after pushing her down stairs, then my mums mum sent my mum to a convent and i was born there, after that i was christened, went to an all catholic school went to confession once a month,went to mass twice a sunday, at christmas we went to the midnight mass,then again on christmas day, they wanted me to sing in the church choir,but if you heard me sing then you would know why i did not make it, when i left infant school and went on to junior school iws not allowed out,it was home work and then read the bible every bloody night,then the asshole came back when i was ten,and then it really got bad,(but that is another story which i can tell if you want me too).

I'm sorry to hear about a childhood like that, and I agree on you with so many things.

We shouldnt live in fear of going to hell or shit. In my religion we believe there is no such thing. Just that you go back to God when you die. I take that as just turning back into the old energy you came in as.

I too also believe prayer is futile, for the most part at least. It might give you confidence or such but not much else. Even though my parents want me to, I only do it occasionally to please them.

I'm glad to see you get out of that circle of fear. Unlike all these 'believers' you question 'your' beliefs, and did what you thought right. Way to go, man.
