According to my brother's labmate, the purpose of existence is to pass on our genes so they survive. I believe that Dawkinism espouses the same credo.

Sounds very much like "go forth and multiply", does it not?

    What do you think?

Go forth and multiply was fine when we didn't have 10 gazillion people here.

I believe our purpose is to serve God.

LOL, in my circle go forth and multiply is a polite way of saying F off,
If any one wants to take one mans idea over others is up to them,
I think humans are not breeding stock we have the will to choose
    ourselves.

What do you think is the purpose of propagation?

I can not think of a reason why any organism should want to propagate,
may be people think that humans have some higher purpose than species
that have have all ready died out.

We propagate because we can, nothing more.

Okay, so why can we propagate?

There is no specific purpose to existence as described by evolution. Reproduction is just what we do.

We, would not be if we could not, so we must propagte to be, where is the reason to that?

    But why would we propagate?

The objective of propagation is the passing on of genes and, thereby, partial genetic continuance at the haplotypic level. There is no other "purpose", unless you'd care to try and define one.
