View Full Version : Get rich quick schemes?! (North Korean WoW idea inside!)
Hurricane Angel 12-09-06, 03:03 AM Since most of you here are at least slightly intelligent, I would think some of you came up with some ideas to get loads of cash real quick. Even though these schemes are completely insane.
Well anyways, I'll share ONE of mine;
The North Korean World of Warcraft Ebay Account Vending Generator
This involves using a horde of computer gaming nerds to get level 60 accounts and subsequently auction them off on Ebay for several hundred dollars. So here are some basic facts this theory works on;
1) Asians are the best gamers, specifically Koreans.
2) North Koreans (assuming you can get a hold of one) will be cheaper than a South Korean.
3) The Ebay WoW account market won't get saturated on a monthly basis.
So, the initial investment involves ~$80,000 for 40 computer systems, and ~$5,000 for a camp-like setting and furnishings for 40 koreans. The monthly costs are a salary based on characters completed (around $10 for each child every month, $400), food/hydro/utilities ($2000). And let's be honest these conditions are MUCH better than any of them would have experienced in North Korea.
My research into WoW says that it takes about 2-3 weeks for a veteran to achieve level 60, and this is alone. So we'll assume about 1 month for the 40 "units" to achieve several level 60 characters, systematically involving trade skills, etc. That's 1 month into the system.
Afterwards, each level 60 will take about 1 week per unit due to the powerleveling by the guild. One extra week is assumed to obtain valuable items and such, considered valuable by the ebay crowd.
So here's the financial info;
1 sale account -> $750 average value - $29.99 game + first month subscription = $720
first month: -$80,000 investment, -$6,000 monthly, zero accounts generated
second month: -$6,000 monthly, ~40 accounts for sale ($29,000)
third month: same as previous, etc..
Ironically I've only played WoW for 2 months, but I figured there has to be a way to make money off it. Thoughts?
redarmy11 12-09-06, 03:11 AM Gooksploitacious. You are a genius.

That is a libelous accusation. You'll be hearing from my lawyer and mum forthwith.
Hurricane Angel 12-09-06, 02:09 PM I'm glad you NERDS have an abundance of JOKES and not MONEY.
phonetic 12-09-06, 03:50 PM It wouldn't get me rich very quickly I decided, since doing some research, but I thought about making dolls house kits and ebaying them.
With my carpentry skill, or lack thereof, I'd stand to lose a lot of money.
My favourite idea, that I don't have the skillz for, is a karaoke chat site.
Free rooms would have about 20 people and they'd each need to wait their turn to sing their song, whilst an ad rotation would bring me money. Alternatively, there'd be a one time private karaoke room - say $3 per 20 songs in a password protected room for karaoke-er and friends. A monthly membership of $20, with up to 200 songs over the month and a private room whenever they wanted, or yearly with 2500 songs for $199.
No doubt my pricing is a little ambitious and the actual charges would make it unfeasible.
I haven't researched the legalities, but I'm sure it could be done.
TruthSeeker 12-09-06, 10:56 PM This is not a "get rich quick scheme". Those schemes are supposed to be very easy and require no money down and no real work. That was a quite sophisticated and original business idea... :)
dagr8n8 12-12-06, 03:19 PM Yeah, ^^^ . I have herd of people doing this before tho. But I donno seams like it involves alot of investment :/

Making WoW camps?
one_raven 12-12-06, 04:10 PM I've had lots of them.
Unfortunately I have no ambition, so lots of other people got rich on those same ideas.
I have a few more.
I'll just wait until someone else comes up with it so I can say, "I thought of that five years ago!"
dagr8n8 12-12-06, 07:23 PM Phoetic, yeah well parsay. not necessaly in North Korea, but in China, Yes. I donno If its been done. But from what I have herd, on internet lingo, people do it.

Making WoW camps?
All the ideas I read so far in this thread actually require a lot of work, and are obviously, not "get rich quick schemes".... :)
dagr8n8 12-13-06, 01:17 PM Yeah lol a 100 grand investment aint really a "get rich quick scam" and its not actually a scam eather....
Hurricane Angel 12-15-06, 12:38 PM Okay well here's another "scheme" and it's quick;
Buy alot of zirconia, and swindle a fool who thinks they're real diamonds. It's unfailable!
edit* or sell them all on ebay, provided you do it fast enough so the bad ratings don't catch up with you.
Also, that goes for just about anything. I've found contacts in China making quality Louis Vuitton counterfeits, if you buy 100 of those (they sell them at a cost of $40 each, $15 for 100), you can sell them on one of those websites that claims "they're all real to their knowledge". I'm specifically referring to www.karenkooper.com, go check out their disclaimer. They claim that their prices are cheaper due to low inventory fees, what a load of shit, only eLuxury.com and the specific brand stores (ie. only Louis Vuitton stores are allowed to sell their products, they will never be sold to another retailer) are allowed to sell designer purses and such.
s0meguy 12-16-06, 09:25 AM There are a few problems with that... 1 the trade rights costs 2 they claim to research the source of the clothing and 3 don't you think that they're too experienced to fall for that?
phonetic 12-16-06, 09:33 AM Quick and (relatively) easy - Buy lots of duty free cigarettes in a different country, smuggle them in then sell them at a car boot sale or the pub.

hows that going to work....already done

Oh, didn't know they needed to be new ideas. It's proven, though :)
Alright, here's one that isn't extremely easy.
Buy cheap electronics - speakers, what have you. A digital radio.
Repackage them in nice casings - wood, metal or whatever you can work with.
If they're really pretty people should buy them.
Stryder 12-16-06, 08:13 PM A Scam one was advertised as:
a box of 50 lighters for £1
What the suckers bought though was a box of matches.
i have always got new ideas in my head and i never use them for get rich quick i use them for diversions or when i am broke i get a quick buck to buy smokes or sum tucker or even fuel
people do fall for them and they do buy and they do like my ideas but i never use them for big bucks dont think big like that but if u think big and think its gonna work hay why the hell not good on you
one time i kept talking bout the way the brain in one day per persons usage and is the same measurement of the telecom wires of australia
and i went on and one to people it interested people when i know nothing bout the brain just read it sumwhere but people listened and then bounced on the telecom wires and wanted to buy them now they have shares in telecom is called telstra now i giggle bout it how easy it is too think big with the gift of gab
How about $2.99 for a "copper plaque of the Great Emancipator, Abraham Lincoln".
In other words, a penny.
Are you sure the N. Korean governement allows access to WoW? I suspect the internet censorship is pretty tight there.
i mean i dont laugh at how big it can be just how easy it is
not meaning to laugh at all really just kinda bloody giggle is all
only how they believe or how easy it is to make em believe
not menaing i laugh at them believing i ment i better shut up is 3what i mean
Nikelodeon 11-05-07, 04:01 PM stop laughing....
