If I could prevent a disease, then yes, I'd want to know. For example, if I had a very high risk of developing bowel cancer, I'd like to know, so that I could undergo a bowel resection. This way, I've avoided the bowel cancer. However, if I am destined to suffer from a disease which is not preventable, then no, I would NOT want to know. What's the point? |
