Finished watching Gasaraki today. Still digesting it. Very little gore, no sex, very little profanity. Three points in its favor there.

Vertigoll 02-19-03, 08:39 PM In it's favor? You kiddin'? ;0) Gifted 02-20-03, 07:13 AM Extrapolate please? Vertigoll 08-18-03, 07:36 PM Just some humour. Sorry. ;) Gifted 08-22-03, 10:36 AM I did think it was good, though. Aside from interesting characters and world, the technical aspect were good, my own theory is that a neurolink or similar system is teh most efficient way to control a macha, and they put thought into armament, not just strapping on big guns. I've noticed a tendency, in Gasaraki, and others, can't think of titles right now, but when based on earth, in near-future places, they tend to have a U.N. that's a bit more like what it should have turned out as, with it's own armed forces to use i nit's business, rather than the way it is today(and what it looks like it will be). guthrie 08-22-03, 02:35 PM CAre to give us a rough plot synopsis? Yes and yes and yes. It's set in the near future, a special unit of the Japanese defense force is equiped with mecha-like vehicles called tactical armors. The interesting thing is that the material used for the artificial muscle comes from a magical thing from the past. The company adapted the stuff to use in the TAs. This bit of fantasy sets it apart from everything else I've seen, mixing them, where the few others I've seen are either tech-based, or magic-based, not both. They also do more realistic movement, no Kung-Fu fights between them and the bad TAs, and no transforming into jets and stuff. |
