Yep. It's true. The show has officially been revived. While there were fears that the original cast would not be signed,
in the end, Fox was able to contract with all the original actors to come back.

26 new episodes have been ordered and will be broadcast on Comedy Central starting in 2010.

what about the professor? he is my fav. character in Futurama.

 

Wow. Talk about your long breaks. I was still in elementary school when this show first came out.

First time hearing about the show. I can't believe they could rip off the design style of the Simpsons so much. Looks like a lawsuit waiting to happen.

Be interesting to see how they handle the cast aging so much. How will they explain how much older everyone looks?

Anyways, I might check it out since some of you seem excited.

 

Wow this is all weird to me, can the original Ninja Turtles please come back too? And Rainbow Bright, and that horse thing that flew and umm loads of others!

 

That's the great thing about cartoons. You can bring a show back years later without worrying about the actors getting fat, or bald, or whatever. Didn't family guy also come back after an extended hiatus?

Looking forward to the new episodes.

 

I can totally tell when a voice actor has lost his hair. It's distracting.

 

I am not fully sure, but I think that they have some of the same people working on both shows(creating it) Even simpsons have new episodes!

and family guy was off for 2 or3years and then started making new ones..

Futurama is such a hilarious show I can't beleive they cancelled it in the first place.

Mat Groenig & David X. Cohen both created the show as a semi-spin off of The Simpsons.

IMHO: Futurama was ALWAYS the superior of the two.
