It's not surprising. This follows a pattern of Putin's of late. Empty gestures of Cold-War era strength (see the missions to Venezuela, etc). What's strange is that I just don't see the point of it all. Do the Russians want to lapse back into the way things used to be?

I know, it doesn't make sense in any way. Which is very upsetting.

I think it makes sense if you are Putin, a former KGB strongman, and you view NATO and EU expansion as threats and want to reassert Russian hegemony is various regions (see the recent pressure that nudged one of the Stans -- I can't remember which -- to shut down the US airbase there). This is all about saber rattling.

I was waiting for you to chime in with your usual Pro-Russia bilge. This obviously isn't just another exercise, what with its timing and posture. It was meant, like everything else Russia does, to send a message. This wouldn't be a news story if this wasn't the case.

The US is the one currently bombing countries in the Russian neighborhood. Seems like you might want to check the messages you're sending out

But after Glasnost, the KGB file showed McCarthy was right about communist infiltration of the U.S. government and agencies.

    KGB Exonerates McCarthyism

    Subject: KGB EXONERATES McCARTHYISM
COMMUNIST SPIES HAD SATURATED U.S. GOVERNMENT

The opening of the KGB archives and the release of the VENONA intercepts (decoded Soviet KGB and GRU traffic) proved that in the 1950's Senator Joseph McCarthy was absolutely right about the extensive Soviet penetration of the U.S. government in all the most sensitive sections and its danger to America. According to the KGB archives, the NKVD had 221 agents in the Roosevelt administration in April 1941 and the Soviet military GRU probably had a like number. He was proved right that the Communist Party, U.S.A., was an arm of the Soviet intelligence apparatus and the Soviet Union considered the U.S. as their "main enemy".

Do CF-18s still sport gatling guns ?

Shooting a hundred or so holes in Crazy Ivan's flying junkpiles will let 'em know they should go home where they belong.

Funny thing is that McCarty did and the links do back me up....

    ESPIONAGE AND THE
    MANHATTAN PROJECT
    (1940-1945)

For over four decades, Klaus Fuchs was thought to be the only spy who was a physicist at Los Alamos. In the mid-1990s, release of the VENONA intercepts revealed an alleged second scientist-spy: Theodore Hall. Like Fuchs, a long-time communist who volunteered his services, Hall made contact with Soviet intelligence in November 1944 while at Los Alamos.

Now for such a smart and intellengent boy, why don't your Google Venona Files, and see just how much of a Jack--- you really are.

    Anyway...

    McKay a McCarthyist. LMAO

Draqon, you want people to know so much about Russia before they post about it, then prove you don't have the first fucking clue about Canada and post about it.
