To me any force termed as military seems like a 'blunt instrument'. If you haven't read the above link it basically describes the circumstances under which American soldiers fired upon Iraqi police officers and killed at least 8 of them. This is the second time in the past 2 days and is a huge catastrophy.
America is losing its grip on the country and alternatives are being sort out for its governing. Ultimately countries like Russia and France will have to become involved because of the amount of money owed to them by Iraq, it is simple they don't help they don't get their cash back. The sooner this happens the sooner control of Iraq will be placed into the hands of the UN which currently is what America is seeking, also once key countries become involved in the rebuilding operations a future for the people of Iraq can be secured. thoughts?

Just make the UN sign a contract of our making before they can come in. If its worth its ink it should let us take advantage of the situation without too much risk.

And htus Clockwood confirms why many people around the world are suspicious of USA motives.

I always say to be suspicious of everything including oneself. Please note that I am far more devious and ambitious than the average American and I make Nixon look positivly naive.

As USA administers the rebuilding of Iraq with Iraq's oil funds firmly in the control of US then Russia and France are not going to get anything out of going into Iraq except the satisfaction of trying to help the people that US has so sorely and consistently abused, in my view. Of course, they tried to help the people of Iraq all through the years the US placed aggressive holds on necessary items under sanctions too, and tried to prevent the war in the first place. But now it suits the US the US wants other people to take care of its problems and clean up its messes- that is what it seems like to me.

It was obvious what was going to happen if the US went into Iraq to several commentators and it has infact happened. I wonder if the US administration was aware it would happen and didnt care as control of the oil resource and money flowing to US reconstruction companies and US weapoons manufacturers was of more importance?

Why would I give anything away that can be picked up and used against me? I might get lucky and strike some idea somebody could grab and run with. I'm not trying to prove anything and something becomes worthless if everybody has it.

There is an advantage to selling the enemy weapons, that way you know what they have in their arsenal and what counter measures to take, of course you dont sell them your best stock, just your old or second best peices.

I think american comopanies are makingt much money out of the american government spending US taxpayers money on weapons fromt he Us manufacturers of them- the smart bombs need restocking for instnce having been so widely used in Iraq. I think i have read that there are connections between some of the people in government or advising government int he US and arms manufacturers.

ROFL :D :D

Hey clockwood
What if the UN refuse to sign up?
Then the US get to keep Iraq! Wayhay!
Seems to me that the US are getting roundly buttfucked in the desert kingdom. They are in no position to dictate terms.
Oh BTW I did have some sympathy for the position you adopted the last time the US opened fire inappropriatly. After all that was a crowd control situation and tempers were high, but a marked police car running full lights? How can such a thing happen?
If the US want to 'win' this thing then they have to stop shooting civvies and policemen!
Am I talking to myself here?
Sometimes clockwood it seems that you let patriotism overide your common sense.

Your better than that.

The US just want some money and some military help but want to keep control on Iraq ! How can they believe in that ?! Then Bush could say to his electors : "We control Iraq and our guys don't die anymore :)". Of course : The UN guys will replace them !!! Pffff... Hey George, stay in your shit and learn!

About the topic of this thread, DeeCee just said that "If the US want to 'win' this thing then they have to stop shooting civvies and policemen!". I agree but that's just one of the reasons why the US are killed and will never win - because they won't. The main problem is that they are in Iraq and that the Iraqis don't want them anymore : they want to keep their petrol, they want to rule their country , they don't want a US-like democracy, ...

I was just trying some damage limitation:)
I respect clockwood and I don't like to see him make a fool of himself this way.
