Friday Night Sermon -- Online Bible Study

I Saw It And I Was Wrong!
An FNS Special Edition
In the last FNS, I encouraged you to pray for a group that I categorized as oppressed. I was dreadfully wrong! They still do need prayer. However, not for oppression but, for correct orientation to God. Since the last FNS, I have learned that this church had some rotten to the core practices and that they did in fact abuse the children. These were not just simple whippings like I remember from childhood. They were rare tools used to bring behavior back in line when in need of severe correction. This church that I had defended actually practiced torturous beatings. Again, I was wrong in coming to the defense of this church and I acted too quickly upon the limited information I had received. There is most certainly a place for physical discipline. There is NO place for things like half hour long beatings and forced/coerced marriage at the tender age of 16!

For all of you that know me, I'm sure you know that my intentions were good. I, however, had false facts. My resulting actions were incorrect. I apologize. I hope you accept and, on Friday, we will continue together.

Thank You and God Bless you all,
