It's funny how the men with real experience are calling Bush on his whole Ahabic obsession to secure Iraq come hell or high water.
Experience. Who needs that when there's an endless supply of weaponized hubris? Our system is woefully ill-equipped to deal with leaders who lie shamelessly while making jingoistic and religious statements, and who use fearmongering and warmongering as a routine tool of political governance. We inculcate our population with the notion that "We are free, we are just and we are the greatest democracy on earth!" For tens of millions of Americans that notion is stronger than the evidence which contradicts it. It is simply "unbelievable" to people who know we are the good guys and our president is thus automatically a good guy too
Actually, on this point, I think he's wrong. It not amateur hour, it's a very deliberate political decision that the administration knows will be picked up by the media and create a sense of anxiety in the in population. If you understand its true purpose, it was actually a rather ingenious move.

    :m: Peace.
