I've heard this from so many different people that it's not even funny..... "the bible was assembled from books written with divine inspiration" Now for those of you that think that way, think about this... Why would some guy or girl or what have you compile a list of texts already written in doing that it would take a few weeks at most to write, not to mention for loads of publicity and monetary reward because people did buy books back then (very costlie of corse) let me know your thoughts on this subject, thanks

    ps
all you cristin idits our rowng.

    Never mind

    GB,

Okay I get it. I just now stumbled over Mossfan's question and see now that YOUR question was a spoof of his question. Got it. Okay.

    Very incoherant. In fact... terrible.

The official christian canon, the bible, was assembled in the fourth century at the command of emporer constantine, who was not himself a christian until his deathbed conversion some years later.
He gathered the church luminaries of the day at nicea and commanded them to produce an official canon because civil disturbances caused by opposing sects of christians were upsetting the peace of his kingdom.
While the church fathers worked on the official canon constantine looked over their shoulders to make sure nothing that might be politically inconveinent was included.
These are the "divine" origins of the bible.
Interestingly enough other writings that were discoverd later, like the gospel of thomas, were never even considered for inclusion (at least as far as i know) I guess the archeologists or whoever brought them to light werent considered to be sufficiently inspired

    Hello.

I have understand that so called divine books, are found in Canon of Murator in 170jKr. Many apostolic fathers and church fathers borrow verses those books, in years 95jKr-325Jkr and so on. There are also earlier manuscripts founded, example Chester Beatty about 175jKr-250jKr. Also there are other fragments like Bodmers papyruses. These earlier manuscripts include same texts than those that are written after Constantinus.
