Has any of you ever floated? What was it like?

Only in water and in my dreams. The feeling is unbelievable you feel free and alive and in control. You really feel at peace in the air. Well at least I do in my dreams :)

Floated in a special tank. The water is kept at body temperature and is made up into a high concentration of siline with epsom salts. The light is gradually dimmed as is the music (Or dolphin noise if you're that much of a hippy.) Total darknes, total silence and completely weightless.

I'd like to do this - its the sensory deprivation tank right? Like in the Simpsons :D ? Seems like it'd be really cool actually

i floated while on shrooms once, i was out in deep space and i saw that all things are conected. superstring theory maybe? scarred the crap out of me. that was the last time i did those damn things.

Apparently, floating can work wonders for athletes, students, weight loss, habit breaking etc. I haven't done it yet but it sounds amazing, I'd really like to open up a commercial floating centre where I live--there's none in the whole country!
