yes, a new term it is
FIREFOXHACKED is when you with Firefox webbrowser open http://www.westernunion.com and select a country of your preference. Austria and Latvia were my picks.
then I get redirected to georgewbush.com !!!
or maybe it's a bushhack?
anyways... I'm quite deeply annoyed.

can somebody explain this? //scratches head

p.s. I'm on Linux.

More like bushwacked.

I couldn't suggest how it was done considering you are running a linux build. If it was windows, it would all be too easy. You should check to see what daemons your system is running and lock the ones down that your not using. Check the exploits lists for your current linux build and the programs you use.

It's a pity you can't get any more details, perhaps do a search on your system for "time/date changes of files" to see what files have been modified recently, you might be able to find out if something was changed.

Stryder, I have a 320gb storage. A hell of a lot things have been changed.
The same thing happened to electronicbb when he checked this out, so I guess it's no a end-user/administrator problem, but something has been done with the website

This happens in my version(0.92) as well, on WinXP. So I don't see much point testing my linux version.

There's something in the javascript that the westernunion site uses that directs firefox users to go "I'm feeling lucky" with google (putting a word into the address bar of firefox results in it being searched for on google by default). Searching on 'w' in google incidently results in georgewbush.com.

I was looking for the goRegion() function used in the source. I'm pretty sure it's not used in any of the javascript files, and I know it's not a part of javascript's native functions. Maybe I am missing something.
