I was wondering what firefox addons you no good wankers out there are using, hence this thread.

I'm currently using the following addon:

    - AddBlock Plus 0.7.2.4 - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1865/
Adblock is a content filtering plug-in for the Mozilla and Firebird browsers. It is both more robust and more precise than the built-in image blocker.

    - AddBlock Plus Filter Uploader 1.0.1

    - Answers 2.2.22 (just installed) - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/735/
This one's simple: Just hold down the Alt key (Option key on a Mac) and click on a word, and a window will pop up with information about that word from Answers.com. (You can have the results displayed in a full window if you'd rather.) There's a More button in the pop-up that'll open a new tab with the full Answers.com results page.

    - All-in-One Gestures 0.18.0 - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/12/
This is one of those extensions that does more than you'll probably ever need, but the core function is to assign commands to "Gestures" made with the mouse. For instance, holding down the right mouse button and dragging the mouse a bit to the left issues a "Back" command. A right-mouse button/dragging up combo opens a new tab. And so on.

    - ChromaTabs 1.0 - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/3810/
ChromaTabs colors the tabs based on the hostname in the URL. For instance, any tab displaying a Computerworld page might always be a light green color. If you surf away to a different site, the tab's color will change.

    - Forecastfox 0.9.5.2 - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/398/
Forecastfox puts an up-to-date weather forecast in Firefox's status bar. Just click one of its icons to see the full weather report at AccuWeather.com.

edit: stole some text describing the addons

aah it's kinda funny, you make gestures with you mouse to control the browser, like back/forward, open new tab, bookmark page and so on, it has 90 gestures in total i think but it's douthful anyone actually can remember or use them all.

bottom line get it, it's fun

I don't use Firefox at home any more, because after some time it doesn't display pages, i.e., it loads a page (size and all), but I see only a blank.
Doesn't happen with the Windows version I use at work.

Firefox has definitely got worse, which is a shame. I use it as my main browser because I love it and hope it will get better one day

If I need to download things quickly I'll use Opera.

    Addons for firefox -

    Adblock Plus

    Tab Mix Plus - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1122/
Tab Mix Plus enhances Firefox's tab browsing capabilities. It includes such features as duplicating tabs, controlling tab focus, tab clicking options, undo closed tabs and windows, plus much more. It also includes a full-featured session manager with crash recovery that can save and restore combinations of opened tabs and windows.

    Downthemall - http://www.downthemall.net/
DownThemAll (or just dTa) is a powerful yet easy-to-use Mozilla Firefox extension that adds new advanced download capabilities to your browser.
DownThemAll lets you download all the links or images contained in a webpage and much more: you can refine your downloads by fully customizable criteria to get only what you really want.
DownThemAll is all you can desire from a download manager: it features an advanced accelerator that increases speed up to 400%, it allows you to pause and resume downloads at any time and, last but not least, it's fully integrated into your favorite browser!

DTA is handy for downloading lots of files on the same page. It brings up a list with checkboxes beside the filename. Filter what you want or don't want by hand or by filetype (customisable).

Good for porn samples, pages of mp3s, etc

Avatar: are you sure it is not the page that's broken or have propriety code in it?

phonetic: with Tab Mix Plus can you move the tabs around, like if you wanted the last to be first for example?

Absolutely sure. Always happens some days after a clean install. If I disable hd cache, goes on for a little longer,
then it just doesn't load about 70% of web pages, especially those that are php generated.

At home I use Linux. I know others who have the same problem, and it's a problem in Firefox, and also, but a lot less, in Galeon, which is Gecko based,
so my guess is that devs have screwed smthing up in the Linux version.
    Using Opera now.

Yes. You can drag and drop them into position wherever you want. You can have the tabs at the top, bottom or either side of the browser as well, I think.
