Let me ask you, how does one find true peace? Can the world ever realize this to it's potential? Tell me your thoughts. Also a question. If there was a single individual that you agreed with completely, and others did too, would you allow them to run the entire planet? (aka godlike).
Nah, that won't do it, one quarter of each month would be filled with war and venom. The key to true peace is accepting that neither you nor anything else exists, and that you and everything else does exist, both at the same time.
True peace comes when you learn to ignore the ills of the world around you. If 458 gazillion people die horrible deaths in "AXY" nation, if you don't hear about it or simply ignore it, you'll find peace. Nope, the world is fucked ...because of nosey people who pretend to be compassionate and empathetic. They whine and cry and stir up more trouble than the original problem! Only if it was Baron Max. Baron Max
The world? I see little hope for that. I oft woder will I ever make my peace with everything.. All I can do is speculate. As for finding content: I am too ambitious for that.
true peace does not need to be found, true peace is now, every day we live in, every time we breath, every word we make is for peace, and if it is not, let us make it so.
True peace starts within yourself. If everyone could bring themselves to find their own way of finding peace within themselves then we would have a start at finding world peace. But if people can't even get their own minds at peace how can anyone ever find world peace? :itold:
Does anyone or anything on Earth really have "true peace"? Have they ever had "true peace"? Baron Max
I was refering to peace of mind, knowing that you, yourself is under control and happy with who you are as a person. If you aren't then that would be a goal to achieve in life I would suggest.
My answer mirrors cosmic's, once enough individuals are at peace with themselves it will spread to society. All men's miseries derive from not being able to sit in a quiet room alone. -- Blaise Pascal
That sounds like you are at war with yourself! Do you have that much inner strife that you think that way?
I don't know. Honestly I don't. I don't think I would want to find true peace, at least not on a personal level. My lack of peace drives me to continually question, to try and learn more about the world and how it works. If I were at peace, I don't think I'd have such a powerful urge to keep learning. As for the world, I don't think true peace is possible. Life is a constant struggle between individuals with competing desires. As long as resources are limited, there will never be peace. But with that way of thinking you'll never know the truth whether being at peace would or would not make learning any different . Perhaps that lack of peace drives you trying to find it and that is why you keep trying to find things out. You never will know until you actually find out for yourself if you can attain inner peace and tranquility. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
I do I think it is a lack of peace that drives me to find things out, as you say, which is why I would never want to attain inner peace. I like finding things out, I love the drive that pushes me to learn. Maybe if I were at peace (whatever that means) I would be even more driven to learn. But I doubt I'll ever find out either way. There's too much to do in the meantime LOL
I agree. I think I would be less driven to do things if I felt peaceful. I feel happy most of the time, unless someone has done something to piss me off, but I wouldn't call that peaceful. I'm one of those hyperactive Type A people. Balls to peace, it sounds boring! Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
