Well my old ones finally crapped out and I had to find a new pair to replace the old ones. They were over 5 years old with allot of wear and tear on them so I guess the lasted long enough. I found a nice CD/DVD double layer read/write burners for only 30.00 each at a nearby computer store. They are Sony DRU-V200A. I couldn't get them operational at first but after moving the jumper on one of them they both became active and are working just fine now. They are 20X as well, which is fine with me. :)

What is this thread about? Your 30-30 dollars big investment in every 5 years? Congratulations.

By the way people still burn CDs???

I use them to play my games with mainly. I need one to play most of my games and a few require two of them. This thread is only to show how cheap they have become because when I last bough one they cost about 75.00 US. I also make copies of my games as well .

I also have to use it for my new installation CD's as well .
