Good day.

We all know that our expention will continue or we will simply
decline or go inxtinc some day when all the Earth resources
will be consumed. We were 1 billions in the 1800-1900. We are
now more than 7 billions on this little blue ball. By 2060-80, we
will be at more than twice this number...

Today, in 2001, if the whole 7 billions peoples on Earth would
consume resources at the same rate North American does,
it would recquire 2 other planet Earth full of resources to face
the challenge. At this rate, forget about abundance with more
than 14 billions people waiting in line in 80 years from now !

That's mean that we must start to look at ''acceptable'' ways
of colonising other star system. forget about Solar wind sail.
Going to the closest star at 1/5 of the speed of light will take
20 years. I don't think that it can be clasified as ''acepptable'' by
any mean. This is for the closest star, imagine how unaceptable
it is for the rest of the galaxy...and the entire universe...

As the US air force get past the sound barrier in the 60's, we
must find a way to get past the speed of light, wich is way to
slow to even think about going to other star, even for our closest
neighbor.

To acheive such an accomplishement, my logical deduction
lead me to think that if we want to do that some day, it
will require astronomical amount of energy.

Any concept that include moving a mass over immence distance
at great speed involve the spending of countless amount of
energy. Even more for conceptual theorie like wormhole or warp
drive engine.

So, there are the big questions again:

Do you think, from a science point of view, that some day we
will master faster than light travel ?

What is our best hope the get there ?

Is there any chance, at least on paper, that Wormhole or
warpdrive could be fesable one day ? Crunching space instead of
going faster seem the only logical way to go !

What are the research underway that adress new form of
energy ? I know a little about this new string theorie. Any hope
to find someting interesting in there, even in theorie ? How about
Quantum mechanic ?

Is there anything more powerfull than matter/antimatter
reaction ? I read somewhere that we could find, in the Bigbang
background noise radiation, enough energy from the volume of a
cup of coffee, to make all ocean on earth boiling. That's what I
call energy ! Anyone know if it could be possible ?

Since E=MC2 and that ''C2'' is constant, the only thing we can
work on is ''M'' to get more ''E''. Is there anyway to create a mass
générator/motor device ? We could generate mass when needed
to get anti-grav proprietie or capture planet/star/
Blackhole /galaxy mass to get limitless amnount of energy to
bend space at will !!

Hummmm.... Anti-grav on planets and warpdrive between stars all
from the same device... Remind you something ? The truth is out there...

Best regards all,

Steph

Star Trek solved that problem by inventing Matter replicators, artificial gravity and Fusion reactors.

In the next 300 years if we can invent these for real, we will solve the population problem.

Teraform Mars
Settle in moon with force field to protect from meteor
Live in the upper atmosphere of earth
If Mars gets crowed go to Venus
By then , with FTL, start searching for other planets.

We can stop the population problem by getting people to stop fu**ing. Wait a minute...Terraform Mars?..That would be MUCH easier.....

With all the Viagra and look alikes, we are going stop? Long time ago, reproducable age was a narrow band. Now we are extending that band to start at 14 and end at 140....

May be some one will design a grain (rice or wheat) that sterilizes the population??? Saw it in Star Gate TV serial...
