Due to certain posters being antagonised about what ever has or has not been said, I realise that perhaps there should be a Fight Club... Well Hissy Fit subforum might be more appropriate.

The rules would be very simple, certain posters that have a habit of bitching at one another could have their own Poster Vs Poster thread, They would be allowed to talk smack about each other without moderators interfering too much (Obviously spam/porn etc still needs to be dealt with) however the main rule is they would have to keep it JUST TO THAT THREAD and stop spamming the rest of the forum.

Admittedly on paper it works, however in practice people have habitual states of mind where a gripe has to be niggled at as often and as snide as possible. That's what needs to be cut down here at Sciforums, perhaps this would be the way to do that?

Any suggestions or alternative ways of dealing with such 'personal conflicts' should be put here, just remember though this thread isn't about bringing your conflict to attention, it's just a hypothetical remedy for dealing with certain posters behaviour.

(I do admit that a 'Hissy Fit' subforum should probably be a private access forum away from normal members only those that have breached the Flaming rules should be destined for it. Simple penalty system, get caught flaming outside that particular subforum *when* you have access to it equals a permaban. NO EXCEPTIONS.)

Sounds like a good idea - although it would be a weird to see on the main page among all the other discussion subforums. Were you planning to nest it within another subforum (IE - the Cesspool)?

I was suggesting that it would only appear to those that have grudges, they would be given the simple warning: Use this subforum for your differences and do not spam the rest of the forum or you'll get Perma Banned. (I know Extreme, but it would keep people from messing up the whole forum for there personal gripes, as well as keeping those gripes away from the General Public who just want to participate in discussion rather than "flamewars (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flaming_%28Internet%29)")

In your own home maybe, but please remember you might be there right now but the forums is privately funded and privately hosted, what rules are applied are in the interests of respect especially since not everyone that accesses this forum is an adult. Would you like your children to read what you've posted?

If you want to say things publically and open, then you might well consider getting yourself a blog to speak your mind. Then it's out of the hands of people at Sciforums and if people decide to deal with each other legal, it's outside of the forums

It all restarted when she said she said she was taking back the thread from me which was alluded to earlier several times by others with a us vs them pov regarding my pics. I just responded that no one was keeping anyone from posting pics and she was upset at how i responded and that she felt i was overreacting. Either way, i made the point clear that no one was taking over anything and she continued to escalate it further bringing back the point i made referring to those who were hypocritical as "skanks" in the past.

This would have some grounds if she and others weren't bullying and goading my posts which it clearly was. Would it be acceptable if i basically "harassed" others who posted with comments like "you need your own thread, as i'll lose my lunch" "can't you name one non-whatever!!" Come one people, wake up, that is harassment. That's really obvious. The bottomline is, she and some others want to control the reaction. It doesn't make any sense.

I'd suggest permanent since they would obvious break the rules in the future and get banned otherwise :) At least it would give them someone to slap each other silly with various witty retorts like "Yo' momma's so ...."

While it sounds a grand idea, I'm sure it's failing would be the "audience" since it would only be those that got the "prestigue" to gain access in the first place.

At least it would however have the potential of cleaning the forums up a bit :)
