The reason for the secrecy surrounding the 78-minute audiotape is because it evidently debunks the accepted explanation that intense jet fuel fires melted the tower's steel beams and caused the collapses.

How would they know if its secret?

Gimmie a break, the government isn't hiding anything. The WTC failed because the fire, which moved throughout the spaces, melted the support structures for the floors that hold them to the load-bearing walls. Once the floors buckled they pulled the outer walls in with them, eventually the walls were so warped they couldn't support the weight above the impact zone and they failed. Then the towers fell.

There were no explosives, just the burning jet fuel. That fuel can be heard pouring down the North Tower in a FBI sting recording on the morning of 9/11, from inside a resturant on the main floor.
