Although I enjoy many types, mostly strategy & simulations with sci-fi plots, my fav PC game of all time would have to be Homeworld and the add-on Cataclysm. I have played each 5 times over and I cant wait for Homeworld 2.

    hmmm....
I like a few PC Games, all from Blizzard... mostly for different reasons:
    1) Starcraft-> the first RTS to satisfy me. (first impression rulez, okay?)
    2) Diablo2-> I want action RPG!
    3) Warcraft-> Only Warcraft 3 though, but actually it's not the in game play that makes me happy: The infinite possiblity of modification is just nice.
I have also played some other PC games:
Sierra games: Not my fav. I don't like first person shooter
    Eidos: just the same
Westwood: Terrible RPGs, NON-interractive RTSs (lately though, Dune 2 was a nice game in the very past).
    And I forget the rest...

Such a difficult question. Here are my favourite relativley new games (in no particular order):-
1- Half-life: the most groundbreaking and jawdropping game that I've ever played. The first truely interactive 1st person shooter with immersive plot including ingame cutscenes, shockingly good level design and unparalleled AI. I will never forget the first time I got of the Monorail and talked to the security gaurd for the first time. This game was awsome.
2- Baldur's Gate II: deep, deep, deep and deep.
3- Dues Ex: excellent concpiracy theory, well balanced RPG elments and the sheer number of ways you could do the same thing all according to your abilities and items. Pure genious.
4- Starcraft: I don't feel the need to explain myself.
5- Midtown Madness: fast, frantic fun using a great physics and graphics (for its time) and probably the best racing courses/scenarios ever. Though this might have been upstaged by GTA 3.
6- Serious Sam 1 and 2: brilliant old-school pointless trigger happy fun breathed fresh air into the 1st person genre.
7- Max Payne: the only game that puts you in a film!
8-Halo (on Xbox): I know, Iknow. It's not a PC game (though it is actually now out on PC) but the co-op is fantastic and the multiplayer great also if not rediculously unbalanced.

Here are my favourite old-school games on all formats: Streets of rage 1,2 and 3, Golden Axe 1 and 2, Streetfighter 2 turbo, Duke Nukem 3D, Quake 1, Bubsy, Supermario allstars, sonic 1 and 3, Mercs, Doom 1 and 2, Superbomberman 3, Altered Beast, Spiderman, Road Rash and many more which I can't think of right now.

I used to play Graal before it was shareware. If you didn't have to pay for it I probably would've continued on with it. It was pretty damn sweet.

Testify: Its even sweeter nowadays despite the best efforts of Unixmad and Lycia. I have no idea why Stefan let them into the upper ranks.

And of course "Pachuka is your daddy" still echos in every server.

System Shock 2- The combination of stealth puzzle solving and whacking stuff, lit up so many of my pleasure zones, i think i'll have to have another play thru later
DiscWorld- V.Funny and difficult enough to keep me interested.
Baldurs Gate (the entire series)- It most have taken me a month of play for each game to find all the little secrets
Fallout (1&2 havent played tactics)- Just the mass of humor in this strategic/RPG made it loads of fun

Lander. Sweetest game ever, not to mention the most unique. You navigate your way through mines in this little pod, right? The pod has a jet on its bottom which acts as its primary means of thrust and it has little smaller thrusters on its arms which enable you to control the pod's yaw with the keyboard, and pitch and roll with the mouse. Then you have a little tractor beam which you use to fuel up and transport items with.

First, getting used to the controls is a little hard and awkward, but when you get a hold on it, it's incredibly fun and addicting. The physics are impeccable and it's really fun maneauvering in tight little places while carrying something with your tractor beam to its destination and blowing shit up and solving puzzles. (Not all at the same time). Only thing is, it's like 5 years old and it only works on Windows 98. Damn.

Eve Online, Half-Life, HL Team Fortress Classic, Super Tennis(SNES), Gabriel Knight 1and2, Monkey Island 1&2 and finally Championship Manager.

I don't have one that stands out as best, they were/are all great.
