Seriously. In this instance I agree with you sandy. A favorite song of mine? "When I Was A Child" by The Dave Brubeck Quartet on the album Quiet As The Moon.
What? I am laughing how it is such a coincidence.... Shout To The Lord Lyrics Words and Music by Darlene Zschech My Jesus, my Savior Lord there is none like You All of my days, I want to praise The wonders of Your mighty love My comfort, my shelter Tower of refuge and strength Let every breath, all that I am Never cease to worship You Shout to the Lord All the earth let us sing Power and majesty Praise to the King Mountains bow down And the seas will roar At the sound of Your name I sing for joy At the work of Your hands Forever I'll love You Forever I'll stand Nothing compares to the promise I have in You

Savatage - Believe Savatage's 1991 album Streets is one of the better rock operas. No, it's hardly another Tommy, but it certainly rivals King Diamond's Them. The end of the album is an outpouring of catharsis, including "Heal My Soul" (an adaptation of the Welsh hymn "Suo Gon"), "Somewhere in Time", and the closing number, "Believe". Your childhood eyes were so intense, While bartering your innocence For bits of string: The grown-up wings You needed. But when you had to add them up, You found that there were not enough To get you in, Pay for sins repeated. And for all the years you borrowed, And for all the tears you cried, And for all the fears you had to keep inside: I am the way! I am the light! I am the dark inside the night! I hear your hopes! I feel your dreams! And in the dark, I hear your screams! Don't turn away! Just take my hand! And when you make your final stand, I'll be right there, I'll never leave; And all I ask of you is Believe! I never wanted to know, Never wanted to see! I wasted my time 'Til time wasted me! I never wanted to go, Always wanted to stay, 'Cause the persons I am Are the parts that I play! So I plot and I plan, And I hope and I scheme, To the lure of a night Filled with unfinished dreams! And I'm holding on tight To a world gone astray As they charge me for years I can no longer pay! It's a shame that Paul O'Neill never finished the novel:
I dont have a favorite song. bUt i like rock, not the heavy stuff but songs by Nickelback, Stain, Creed, Evanescence, Sting, Matchbox twenty, Cranberries..

"Seize The Day" Seize the day or die regretting the time you lost It's empty and cold without you here, too many people to ache over I see my vision burn, I feel my memories fade with time But I'm too young to worry These streets we travel on will undergo our same lost past I found you here, now please just stay for a while I can move on with you around I hand you my mortal life, but will it be forever? I'd do anything for a smile, holding you 'til our time is done We both know the day will come, but I don't want to leave you I see my vision burn, I feel my memories fade with time But I'm too young to worry (a melody, a memory, or just one picture) Seize the day or die regretting the time you lost It's empty and cold without you here, too many people to ache over Newborn life replacing all of us, changing this fable we live in No longer needed here so where do we go? Will you take a journey tonight, follow me past the walls of death? But girl, what if there is no eternal life? I see my vision burn, I feel my memories fade with time But I'm too young to worry (a melody, a memory, or just one picture) Seize the day or die regretting the time you lost It's empty and cold without you here, too many people to ache over Trials in life, questions of us existing here, don't wanna die alone without you here Please tell me what we have is real So, what if I never hold you, yeah, or kiss your lips again? Woooaaah, so I never want to leave you and the memories of us to see I beg don't leave me Seize the day or die regretting the time you lost It's empty and cold without you here, too many people to ache over Trials in life, questions of us existing here, don't wanna die alone without you here Please tell me what we have is real Silence you lost me, no chance for one more day [x2 then continues in the background] I stand here alone Falling away from you, no chance to get back home I stand here alone Falling away from you, no chance to get back home
Bob Dylan - Masters of War "Come you masters of war You that build all the guns You that build the death planes You that build the big bombs You that hide behind walls You that hide behind desks I just want you to know I can see through your masks You that never done nothin' But build to destroy You play with my world Like it's your little toy You put a gun in my hand And you hide from my eyes And you turn and run farther When the fast bullets fly Like Judas of old You lie and deceive A world war can be won You want me to believe But I see through your eyes And I see through your brain Like I see through the water That runs down my drain You fasten the triggers For the others to fire Then you set back and watch When the death count gets higher You hide in your mansion As young people's blood Flows out of their bodies And is buried in the mud You've thrown the worst fear That can ever be hurled Fear to bring children Into the world For threatening my baby Unborn and unnamed You ain't worth the blood That runs in your veins How much do I know To talk out of turn You might say that I'm young You might say I'm unlearned But there's one thing I know Though I'm younger than you Even Jesus would never Forgive what you do Let me ask you one question Is your money that good Will it buy you forgiveness Do you think that it could I think you will find When your death takes its toll All the money you made Will never buy back your soul And I hope that you die And your death'll come soon I will follow your casket In the pale afternoon And I'll watch while you're lowered Down to your deathbed And I'll stand o'er your grave 'Til I'm sure that you're dead" The Roots version is pretty sick too, with a tuneful jab: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CRmxlKXsqNE - N
Mother By Roger Waters Mother do you think they'll drop the bomb? Mother do you think they'll like this song? Mother do you think they'll try to break my balls? Mother should I build the wall? Mother should I run for president? Mother should I trust the government? Mother will they put me in the firing line? Mother am I really dying? Hush now baby, baby, dont you cry. Mother's gonna make all your nightmares come true. Mother's gonna put all her fears into you. Mother's gonna keep you right here under her wing. She wont let you fly, but she might let you sing. Mama will keep baby cozy and warm. Ooooh baby ooooh baby oooooh baby, Of course mama'll help to build the wall. Mother do you think she's good enough -- to me? Mother do you think she's dangerous -- to me? Mother will she tear your little boy apart? Mother will she break my heart? Hush now baby, baby dont you cry. Mama's gonna check out all your girlfriends for you. Mama wont let anyone dirty get through. Mama's gonna wait up until you get in. Mama will always find out where you've been. Mama's gonna keep baby healthy and clean. Ooooh baby oooh baby oooh baby, You'll always be baby to me. Mother, did it need to be so high? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LWoyZixx1l4
