There were a lot of good Sci-Fi's back then. What was your favorite? Note: These are the originals, not the new remakes.

Quantum Leap was the most original and with the most compelling storylines.

In regards to that I would say the only thing about it that sucked was the shit ending, infct that ruined it. But take heart I did find out the real ending!

It was supposed to continue on into a new season with Sam Leaping off into the future beyond his lifetime, and Al was suppose to go join him as a Leaper to try bringing him back. It's revealed Sam could control the Leaps all along and didn't know it. So Al was supposed to go for him. That God figure was really an alien not GOD and it just gets weirder lol Needless to say they didn't carry it on so it had the rough ending we saw.

The old Battlestar Galactica, and Doctor Who. Although the Doctor Who remake is really good, Galacticas is terrible.

There is no Dr Who remake: it's simply a continuation.
Each time it comes back it uses better sets/ story lines etc.

I bought the first 3 seasons on DVD for a friend for Christmas, and he'd already got them, so I decided to keep them for myself.
    Piece of shit.
Season 1, episode 1 and it starts "Previously on Battlestar Galactica". WTF?
And the clocks all marked at 33 minutes past the hour  Riiiight.
I turned it off at that point, maybe I'll watch it, maybe I won't: but it's nowhere near top of my list for "must-see viewing".

    Semantical error, I stand corrected.
I suppose in some ways though I consider it a remake because its taken the sods so bloody long to do it! Not to mention how much all the creatures have changed. It feels like two separate shows to me. Also considering he's only supposed to have 13(?) regenerations I think we'll find some interesting twists coming up along the above lines, but I may be wrong.

I sat through a couple episodes, despite the urge to smear honey on my genitals and unleash some ravenous ants upon them.
Quite frankly these days anything that's a remake seems to be rubbish.

I have to agree, 'Blake's 7' would have got my vote over 'Dr Who' had it been on the list.

    There's a remake in the pipeline, apparently;

Although it's on Sky One, and I don't have satellite. I'm sure it'll get picked up by 'Dave' or similar eventually.

Iv'e watched most of the remake. It isn't the original. But then again what remake is better than the original? But what about adaptions? Like Transformers was a cartoon and turned into a film.

I find generally it never comes off right, but not being a huge cartoon fan it's hard to make a fair or specific comparison.

    Does Thundercats count?

Simpsons, Southpark, but they stayed as cartoons for the movies.

Faintly familiar with Thundercats. Simpsons is dying out. South park is losing its touch a little.

I have it in my collection. Here's a little tidbit, stock footage of the Valley Forge was used for the Agroship in the Original Battlestar Galactica. Douglas Trumbul produced and directed this film. SF film fans will know that Trumbul also worked on 2001: A Space Odyssey, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, and Bladerunner.

    Then there's Forbidden Planet
