Is it just me, or has everybody noticed that there are certain shapes of faces that seem to reoccur? I'm Caucasian & I can't help notice that white people share a variety of similar facial structures. Perhaps its the same in other races, I don't know. I could be in one part of the world and see a face that has the same characteristics as someone I've met somewhere else. I'm not talking twins but similarities in bone structure and shape. Has anybody else noticed this peculiarity and what is the explanation?

I think all it means is that we're programmed to notice similarities. How do you define a "shape of face" or a "similarity in bone structure?"

Japanese people have told me that our gene pool is riotous. Every single one of us looks so unique that we might as well all be different species. One fellow said, "We can tell each other apart even though we all look alike and even wear the same suit. Caucasians have unnecessary variety."

Try to define them.. it's just a perception. Something people make up in their heads.
