Who here loves Eva Cassidy? I was wonderin if there are any fans who have her Cd's, and cud recommend some for me. I have some mp3's of her songs, but i want to get a Cd. I was thinking of getting songbird, and i wanted to know if its worth buying. I also want to get the songbird sheet music! That way i can sing and play along with her! Groovy eh!!

Any feedback would be good! Thanks!

Mrs. Fish and I used to see Eva perform occasionally at The Wharf and The Birchmere and The Maryland Inn. Her death at age 33 was a true loss to the music world.

To me, she seemed painfully shy and had virtually no pretensions to stardom. Still, she made a huge impact on the Washington, DC. music scene. The Washington Area Music Awards honored her as Best Female Vocalist in four separate categories: blues, jazz-contemporary, jazz-traditional and roots rock/traditional R&B. Listening to her voice in person would raise goose-bumps on my skin. She had staggering vocal power, but could also sing hauntingly soft, with amazing resonance.

Eva by Heart - He first studio recording and her best, IMHO.

Peace.
