President of European Commission Disagrees With Bush About Hamas and Hizbollah

Mr. Romano Prodi, the President of the European Union Commission who was part of the US/EU Summit in Washington, DC, today disagreed with GW Bush regarding Hamas. As Prodi pointed out, Hamas is not simply a military group, but is involved with hospitals, doctors, medicine, education, welfare and is a vital part of Palestinian society.

Bush had shown his simplistic lack of knowledge of Hamas, as he has also done with his comments on Hizbollah, by saying that Hamas was "a terrorist group that must be completely dismantled." Fortunately, for the sake of reality, Prodi made his statements in public and also in interviews with the BBC.
Unfortunately, most American media outlets did not post his informed and mature views.
