Now, one would think that this man was in the throes of harming the child and would have been arrested immediately, if the actions of the police and social workers involved are anything to go by. After all, what would possess these particular police officers, from that particular branch, to charge into a delivery room with weapons raised?

Now, let me see if I get this straight.. the police are made to force their way into a delivery room, where a woman has just given birth, guns and tasers out and ready, drag out the father because he is a convicted criminal.. and then drive him home and tell him to not return to the hospital? Ermm.. what?

Now, one has to wonder just how this ridiculous situation has come about..

The only thing that comes to mind at the moment is "WTF"?

And, the stupidity of this whole sorry situation does not end there. It gets even more ridiculous:

I don't know what is worse. The Minister who allows this kind of thing to happen, the social workers who believe they are doing the right thing and the police for stupidly going along with it.

That child was not in danger. There were midwives and hospital staff in the room, along with the man's mother. The sheer level of force used in this instance would be comical if it was not so damn sad, because it was unnecessary. And to then drive the man home and say, 'don't go back there again'...

Odd things happen in South Australia, it can be like the twilight zone there sometimes.
