Hi!

For starters, I'd like to say "Orson Scott Card, rock on!" heh heh

*calms down* Ok, back to the point. Do any of the OSC fans out there know when Ender's Game:The Movie is going to come out??? The last time I went to OSC's site, it said next next year. I even read part of the script. But when I went back, there was no news about it at all! What happened??

P.S. Is there going to be a sequel to Shadow of the Hegemon?

Hi guys
For all those who need to know Ender's Shadow and Shadow of the Hegemon are breathtaking. The next book in the series is called Shadow Puppets and is due out on the 29th of August(thats UK tho, check Amazon.com it should tell you)
Not sure about the film tho, I mean there's so much of the narrative spent philosophising and soliloquising(?) within Ender's head that I don't think any actor would have the body language to pull it off without some kinda monologue going on in the background.

No way! A new book?? But, I thought the series had ended! AWESOME! (about the new book, not the ending of the series, heh heh) Must....get...new book... :)
Yeah, I agree about the need to find a talented young actor to play Ender, because he's so central to the entire story. Perhaps Haley Joel Osment? He's good at looking thoughtful, heheh. :D

--Reign of Error--
Yeah, Ender's Shadow and Shadow of the Hegemon absolutely rule! I've read Ender's Shadow 7 times, and Shadow of the Hegemon 6 times :D :D Either this is an indication of obsessive compulsiveness, or I just love the books too much! :) Check them out, they're amazing!

-=About the film, I have yet to see anything about it...I'd really like to see it come to life on screen, though. And I think that when they were going to make the film (I don't know if this is still true), they were going to cut out major portions of the Peter and Valentine letter writing and that stuff, because viewers wouldn't be interested in watching 2 kids staring at screens and typing. *shrug* It ought to be intriguing to see Battle School and Petra, and Bean, and Fly Molo, Hot Soup...etc :D

(Wow, I posted this thread like, last year!)

Can you guys tell me the two sequels to the original (in order)? I have to get my hands on them for my trip, one of my friends might have them.

They will generally list the series in the beginning of the book.

Pollux m8 the series goes as follows:

Enders Game
Speaker for the Dead
Xenocide
Children of the Mind
Enders Shadow
Shadow of the Hegemon
Shadow Puppets( due 29th Aug)

Blue if you read Shadow of the Hegemon through after the story, assuming you have the hard back version, there is a bit by Card on what research he did for the book and also a bit about how he was going to write the whole of SOTH as a single chapter in a bigger book but a friend suggested to him that there was enough scope for making a whole book out of the idea. He also mentions that there is at least two more books(including Puppets). If you remember the series must get up to either Bean dying at about 21 or the point where Peter speaks to Ender for the last time.

Ender hads already left the planet though.

Yep, I've read the hardcover version, Kater (it was the only one in the library, heheh). I can't say I remember reading the research portion though....*shrug*, but I'll be sure to check it out. :)

Yeah, I remember that Bean is going to die young and very very tall...it's so tragic! (Imagine the coffin!) But how can there be 2 books? I mean, Bean's life and death plus Peter as a Hegemon will probably fill one book, so how can there be another? Will Achilles come back for revenge? Or is there something about the rest of the kids? Or something from Valentine's point of view? I'm so hyped up! *gives an exagerated excited wiggle like a kid (Bean did this too! :D*

And Gifted's right, Ender had already left the planet when Peter turned into the Hegemon...he was sent away to the chagrin of his parents :(

Blue if he can make a single chapter into a book I'm pretty sure a whole lifetime can be made into a couple of books ;) I think Peter has to forge the warring parties into a unified earth under the hegemon plus as you said Achilles is still out there somewhere. We got Valentines point of view if you remember because she went with Ender. Gifted was sorta right - Ender never made it beyond the platform where he got his medal, I thought there was a bit either at the end of the first or the start of the second where Ender talks to a much older Peter for the last time before Peter dies, I'll check that out incase I'm talking bs. If you think you can' wait imagine reading the extra bit at the end of the hardback like I did and knowing there was another book but you had to wait at least a year for it :(

Yeah, I guess you're right Kater, O.S.C. would and could probably do it! :) But there is one thing, you know that the next books are going to be awesome, so it'll make up for all the waiting :D ;)

Speaking of OSC, have you (Kater and everyone else) read Songmaster, or Tales of Alvin Maker, or that Earth<fill in the blank> Series, or Pastwatch: The Redemption of Christopher Columbus, or Enchantment? Aren't they incredible? :)

Just finished the Homecoming series which is exceptional and I love the Alvin books I just wish he'd get around to finishing them. I wanna see Alvin's city of makers :) Bring on Shadow Puppets I say, the sooner the better - hint hint Mr Card ;)

Definitely! :D Verily Cooper is such an interesting character, I can't get over his cool name :) "Verily...."

I love the way OSC always makes the protagonist suffers...:o :)
