Its been a bit more than a year since Elliot Smith passed. (For those of you who don't know, he commited suicide..)

I've never seen a thread dedicated to him- So here's to an amazing musician, lyricist and person.

Not much else to say. If you've heard his music, then you know how tragic this was; The guy had so much more to offer. If you haven't, download a few songs!

Why..why do the good ones die so young?

RIP Elliot

Because with great creativity comes great burden of seeing the world in a eskewed way....these souls refuse to numb their vision, accept everyday life and everyday phony attitudes of people, and remain quiet.

or...

..they are depressed kids who have the gift of stringing together words but they can't string themselves together. I use to feel bad for those creative genuises who die young but now I don't. Unfortunate? yes....tragic? I don't think so.

I don't feel sorry for him, I feel sorry for myself! :) I never got to see him play live.

I think its kinda funny that even with all of his creative talent, he decided to end it by sticking a knife in his chest. (howabout jumping into a gorilla pit with pheremones...or injecting yourself with snake venom and slowly dying /./?)
