There's already another thread about this underway in the Physics & Math forum.

Sir Issac Newton vs Albert Einstein

Sir Issac Newton vs Albert Einstein

The finite speed of light as now observed demonstrates a significant difference between the simultaneous occurence of gravitational effects brought forward in the Principia Mathematica of Sir Issac Newton with the observation that gravity propagates as a physical effect at the speed of light. This leads to the interesting possibility of forming a physical theory as to the origin of gravity as being due to the accelerative effects of the expansional motion of the universe based on the central princple of general relativity of Albert Einstein which is the equivalence between gravity and acceleration. In this way, the very weak yet universally attractive effects of gravity which are due to this acceleration have a different origin than other quantum mechanical effects in the standard model of physics. It may then be that this is why it has been so difficult to understand gravity in modern theoretical formulations.

All Best Wishes for the New Year !!!

    Yours sincerely,
