View Full Version : Edit our polls?

I don't see a way we can edit our own polls. Is that technically possible with our forum's software? If it is, it would be nice if it were turned on so people could edit their polls if they made a mistake.

Thoughts?

Maybe I'll make it public if enough people vote in favor so that it gets granted.

So you know what to do. Now go do it!

Athelwulf,

I totally agree - I misspelled moderator in a poll and could not edit it ....
Normally you will see that quickly and want to correct it ....
The best solution would be, if you were able to edit your own poll - at least untill voting starts (it would probably be unfair to edit your poll after voting has started ) .........

You mean edit the options? Whats to stop you from changing the poll options after numerous people have voted for something?

Another possibility would be to have a grace period of 3 minutes , with editing ...... after that voting can start ..........

I just saw recently on National Geographic , that people understand , what you write, if the first and last letter in a word is correct - then it does not matter how you write the rest of the letters in between ..........
It is something with people seeing the word as a whole - and not by letters ....

So I just wanted to try it out ...........:m: :p

The fact that people will notice and ostracize you for it.

Agreed, although it does catch some mistakes I never thought I made.

Really? Me too. Same with Flemish. I think it's my knowledge of German that helps me out with it. What's funny is that I have a friend in Belgium that I IM on occasion, and I can talk to him in German, and he'll respond in Flemish, and we both get it! We sometimes have to ask about a certain word, but it's amazing how mutually intelligible written German, Dutch, and Flemish are.

I'll learn ya.

When you're starting a new thread, before you submit it, you scroll down to the Additional Options section, below the text field, and you'll see Miscellaneous Options, Attach Files, Thread Subscription, Post a Poll, and (if you're a mod) Thread Management. From there, it should be self-explanatory.

I'm bumping this because I still think this is a good idea.

Any word from Plazma if this is possible as far as our forum's software is concerned?

Nah.
Editing polls is just asking for mayhem.
If new poll choices are added after the voting begins then it basically invalidates the whole thing.
If you want a new poll, then start a new thread.
