While I was cycling yesterday for several hours, I had much time to think about our relations with China. In thinking, it occured to me the US has become so dependent on China for manufacturing, that in the future as our dependence continues to grow, China may become a dictator to the US. For instance, say China, which is still communist, decides to overtake an allie of the US. The US threatens to retaliate and China responds with an equal threat of a US economic attack by stopping all exports to the US, therefor destabilzing the US economy. Our exports to China are only 1/6th that of our imports from China.

You're mistaking "dependence" with "inter-dependence" or "mutual dependence". If China decides to cut off exports to the USA, China's economy would suffer almost or more than the USA's economy.

It's sorta' like cutting your throat to punish your wife.
