yep felt it here in chrlottesville VA... during after school programs with abunch of little kids.

it was a kinda whimpy earthquake in my opinion, probably cuz ive lived in japan and california.

all the little kids quickly ducked under their desks though.

anyone know specifics on the richter scale and all?

The "Richter Scale" is a logarithmic scale: increasing the scale by 1 (from 1 to 2 say) multiplies the intensity by 10.
I believe I heard that the "Washington, D.C." earthquake was about 3.7 on the Richter scale, typical of "felt by many people but little or no damage". The "San Francisco" earth quake of a few years back was, I believe, 7 point something.

(Actually the epicenter was between Richmond and Charlottesville, Va and it was barely felt in Washington- there are those of us who object to everything in the mid-Atlantic area being ascribed to "Washington, D. C."!)
