GMAIL has got some serious competition even before launching.Rediffmail is now 1 GB for free, and 10 MB for single message(just like Yahoo!).Yahoo! has already launched 100 MB storage space,Hotmail is planning to give 3 GB space(yes for free! thats the gossip!)

most have only 4Mb. thus it is reasonable that the 'ground' state of all free emails is also 4Mb. you are claiming otherwise, so prove it, otherwise i look upon you as a crackpot, andn trust me that is not a good thing.

link please, if it was 3 GB, that would be like an extra storage space, a virtual hard drive to store shit. cool.

Well, I have a Yahoo account, a Gmail account (never a hotmail account, even if they do offer 3Gb). Yahoo is good because they have other services all in one place and 100Mb is plenty for most people. Gmail on the other hand is very handy with the way it does things, is blazing fast, and with Firefox & Adblock you don't have to worry about those ads.
    I like having both.

that is cool but it is a real pain in the ass to change email adresses when everybody already knows your original one

What would someone do with two or three gigabyte mail accounts?
You can use it as backups if you get enough of those accounts. Store your whole data on it...

If Google finds you have more than one Gmail account, you lose all of them.

Mmh, and what a loss it would be. But somehow I think that my two existing e-mail adresses are enough. 1 gig? you can send some movies with that...or mp3 and illegal stuff, loads of stuff. I don´t know. I think i´ll watch how this will evolve..

Evolution occurrs outside biology as well. In this case the correct term was 'develops', but your comment implies you believe the concept of evolution applies only in biology.
