Tom's Hardware Guide (http://www.tomshardware.com/cpu/20050603/index.html) is conducting a "stress test" putting the Athlon 64 X2 4800 against the Pentium 840EE. It'll be intersesting to see who does better. They're on the the 3rd day and Intel already required 2 reboots (for some reason). Also Pentium runs about 7°C hotter than AMD.

An update on the "system stress test" on THG states that they had to change the intel system MB 5x because the intel processor kept burning the chipset. They finally switched to a MB with an intel chipset (which has limitations for the graphic card performance). They've restarted the benchmarks on both systems with the limitation on the graphics card. AMD system runned flawlessly and continously for 90+hrs.

From this test and others, it's clear (to me) that Intel quality is going down the crap hole. AMD is clearly ahead when it comes to reliability.

So what else is new? :D

I can't believe people still buy Intels, but hey, that's the power of marketing for ya.
