View Full Version : Dr who...And It's Spin Of's
lucifers angel 02-27-08, 06:00 AM Me and asgaurd hyjacked his thread about "underbelly", we got caught up talking about dr who, torchwood, sarah jane, and rose tyler!
so does anyone watch dr who, or torchwood!?
and in your opinion which one is better? I prefer torchwood!
cosmictraveler 02-27-08, 06:02 AM Since I have watched Dr. Who since 1963 I have always enjoyed that series. The older ones were better IMHO but these new ones aren't that bad. At least the show laughs at itself from time to time, excuse the pun, which most of the others don't.
Asguard 02-27-08, 06:09 AM I have to say Dr Who because david tennant and billy piper are hot but they both rock, i cant wait for the last of this serise where they all come back:D

Series 4 details
David Tennant is confirmed to star through to 2009. However, during the second half of 2008, Tennant is committed to a Royal Shakespeare Company production of Hamlet. After the 2008 Christmas Special, three Bank Holiday specials have been commissioned to air throughout 2009.[14][15] The programme will then return in 2010 with a fifth full series. Russell T Davies has suggested that the programme is expected to follow this pattern, of full series interspersed with occasional year-long breaks, for some time into the future.[16]
The Doctor will have three companions in the fourth series: Catherine Tate will reprise her role as Donna Noble, who was first introduced in "The Runaway Bride", for all 13 episodes;[17] Freema Agyeman (Martha) will return for episodes 4, 5, and 6, plus two episodes in the finale.[18][19] Billie Piper will return as Rose Tyler for three episodes.[20] Agyeman will also appear in three episodes of Torchwood.[21] John Barrowman confirmed that he will return as Jack Harkness in series 4.[22] Elisabeth Sladen has also confirmed the return of Sarah Jane Smith.[23]
In the Doctor Who Confidential episode for "The Sound of Drums", Davies stated that it had always been his intention to bring back classic icons of Doctor Who one step at a time: Daleks in series 1, Cybermen in series 2, and the Master in series 3. He has also stated that he is not finished and will continue reviving villains from the original series.[24]
Guest stars
The Doctor and Donna Noble will meet Agatha Christie who will be played by Fenella Woolgar in "The Unicorn and the Wasp", an episode set in the 1920s,[9] where she will be supported by Felicity Kendal, who will play the part of Lady Clemency Eddison. Other actors featuring in the Agatha Christie episode include Felicity Jones, Christopher Benjamin, Tom Goodman-Hill, Ian Barritt, David Quilter, Adam Rayner, Daniel King and Charlotte Eaton.
The Doctor and Donna will also visit Pompeii in AD 79, in "The Fires of Pompeii", on the eve of the eruption of Mount Vesuvius. Guest stars featuring in this episode include Peter Capaldi playing Caecilius, Phil Davis as Lucius and Tracey Childs as Metella. This episode featured one week of filming at the Cinecittą studio in Rome.[25]
Further guest stars include: Sarah Lancashire as Miss Foster, an "enigmatic and powerful businesswoman", in the episode "Partners in Crime";[26] Tim McInnerny in "Planet of the Ood";[27][28] and Christopher Ryan as a Sontaran general in "The Sontaran Stratagem", which will feature the return of Freema Agyeman as Martha Jones.[29][30][31] Howard Attfield was set to reprise his role as Donna's father; however, he died on 31 October 2007, aged 60. He was mid-way through shooting the new series.[32]
The cast for Block 6 has been partially announced with Georgia Moffett (daughter of Fifth Doctor actor Peter Davison) starring in one of the episodes. The cast for "Midnight" includes Lesley Sharp with Lindsey Coulson,[33] Daniel Ryan, Rakie Ayola, Ayesha Antoine, Duane Henry, Colin Morgan,[34] and Ryan Sampson.[35]
ER actress Alex Kingston has been revealed to be in the fourth series playing a character called River Song, together they will discover the secrets of a hidden library. [36] She will be in Steven Moffat's two-parter. Actor Colin Salmon (known for his role as Charles Robinson in three James Bond films) will also feature in this series. [37]

Our family has been watching Dr. Who since 1976. We also like Torchwood...but not every episode though we watch it religiously. My all time favorites are
1. Dr. Who
2. Babylon 5
Even though we have all the videos of StraTrek franchise, StarGate Franchise, BuckRogers...

Asguard 02-28-08, 04:25 AM hehehhehe
i love you sweetheart
cosmictraveler 02-28-08, 06:04 AM I think a BIG difference between Dr. Who and all of the rest is very important and another reason I have always enjoyed watching it. That is the Dr. never uses any weapons except his own brain to overcome any problems that he faces. The violence is very limited also and that which is shown isn't allot of death and gore with people being shown blown apart and blood everywhere. There's more thinking involved to figure ways out of seemingly no way out situations and that's what makes it very appealing to me and others I'm sure.
Asguard 02-28-08, 06:05 AM and that screwdrive of course:p
Definitely David Tennant, the other (Eccleston) is not a patch on him :(
superstring01 02-29-08, 11:57 PM Torchwood looks interesting. I may have to Netflix it.
