I thought eyedrops are better. Somewhere on a docu, they said that it's because of the blinking ratio declining so much when you stare at something (e.g. computer screen) your eyes don't keep the needed humidity..

No, but it will help you see better if you have bad eyesight. IMHO

Why? did the computer damage your eyesight?
I guess it's possible. I Googled "Tub Girl" and it damaged my brain.

The most important thing to do is to stand up about once every 45 minutes and go outside for five or ten minutes, focusing your eyes on the sky, the horizon, or something distant. Otherwise your muscles will become accustomed to the constant near focus and adapt to it, degrading your distance vision.

There's no reason to wear glasses when using a computer unless you're far-sighted and have trouble seeing the screen clearly.

I wear trifocals and I had the center lens custom-designed to focus at the distance of a computer screen, and also to be a little higher than they usually are so I don't have to raise my head to look through it. I notice that nowadays all trifocals seem to be like that, but 15 years ago they were not. Perhaps I invented it.

Or nearsighted like me. The issue is really movement of the eyes, not radiation or anything like that. I can't wear contacts on the job because when staring at the screen, the eyes don't move around enough to keep them wet.
