No, China is eternally blessed by god for not having any calamities.

On the contrary--China has been plagued by natural disasters throughout its history; some of the world's worst earthquakes, floods, landslides etc. have occurred there.

Also, the Chinese also invented the first seismometer.

    Seismo

With that said, we can assume they had lots of earthquakes.

I don't know about the plates, Chi, but another thing to remember is that until recent years China wasn't keen on broadcasting it's internal calamities to the whole world. Many earthquakes there were detected by stations in other countries but we heard nothing about the damage they had caused.

There was a massive earthquake that destroyed their Three Gorges Dam and killed many, many people.

But this happened in communist China and was brushed off as "happy energy" from their communist leader, Mao Zedong.

The entire surface of the earth consists of tectonic plates moving around. There isn't any place that's not on one.

For a place not to have had earthquakes recently--or even during recorded history--says nothing about it. Tectonic shifts occur in geological time. After all that's how mountains get to be five miles high and how continents get to be three thousand miles apart, but it took tens of millions of years. All it says is that those two plates haven't had to relieve their stress during the past few thousand years. But we all know that they will, sometime during the next hundred million years. Which ones are next is just a crap shoot.

The worst earthquake in recorded history was in China, in 1556, estimated at 8.0 - 8.3. They had good records and the death toll was 830,000, sixty percent of the population in the 500-mile wide area that was affected.

The worst earthquake of the 20th century was also in China, in 1976, measured at 8.0. It killed 655,000 people.

Sorry, the source I read didn't mention that. How many of the deaths were simply caused by flooding?

My mistake, the dam collapse I'm referring to occurred in 1975, not 1976. And only 85,000 had died.

    http://www2.sjsu.edu/faculty/watkins/aug1975.htm

And the Three Gorges Dam is not even complete, but that was the only infamous Chinese dam and thought it had been collapsed. But it's infamous because it's related to the corruption of China, not a collapse. HIYO.
