Sometimes I feel shy to speak to ppl b/c a have an accent. I am attractive and guys would try to get to know me, but I just don't know how to keep the converstion, cuz I feel they have better conversation skills, and I just listen and don't talk. So 90% of my friends are those who speak my language and the rest also have an accent.
So what do you think of ppl with an accent?

What sort of an acent have you got?, and does it really matter in the long run, its personality that counts , personality sincerity, thats what people want.....try saying the above in an english accent , I'm from Britain...As far as conversation skills are concerned...become an authority in a few subjects, this will give you confidence, and try to get the conversation into your area of expertise..one subject at a a time...hope it helps.

everyone has an accent

accents are good, as long as i can understand the person. I once meet a guy with an extreme english accent. Everytime he said something it took me a good 10 seconds to figure out what he said.

i can see how you'd be shy. I am when i speak spanish with naitive speakers.

Everyone does have an accent. As a native of speaker of english, within my own nation (USA) there are regional dialects, plus, there are IDIOLECTS, that's the differences between one person' speech and another. I speak oddly compared to my friends, and they live within a mile of me..

I don't mind an accent, it'd be boring (and odd) if everybody talked just like me!

Sweetheart, I doubt you shall ever meet a man that doesn't have a thing for an accent. Whatever that accent may be, if you really are a hottie, then it only adds to the mystique. Suddenly you become an exotic dream, a thing foreign and new and beyond us. Treat it as a blessing and knock em dead.

Yes, most american men hate foreigners but have a thing for foreign women.. such odd creatures we are! :D

Accents for the most part are yummy! i have a friend that has a Russian accent, and I could just listen to him talk all day!
I don't think your accent will hurt you all when it comes to guys.

im real shy. I tend to like heavy rock but I use alot of prep clothing and slang

I don't mind. As long as I am able to understand you, it's all good.

I absolutley, positvely love accents... I really, really do. There was this one girl that was at this camp I went to... Astronomy camp in the mountains of Arizona to be exact... She was from Mexico. And I loved and still love her accent. Just the way she said "Thank you so much" was priceless.

I actually prefer accents. I love em. So awesome.

Accents do happen.

It just kinda turns me off when ppl say "wha-at??" :( After that I just forget where I was and loose confidence.

Sexy accent. I know a girl who has a great russian accent here in Toronto, actually.

I'm from australia, so yeah, I much prefer foreign girl's accents.
Eastern europeaen accents are the best, and italian and swedish.
I hate lower class british accents but classy brit makes my pants happy:cool:
I hate south africa and new zealand, they're like australia only somehow uglier.

Ksena,have you tried learning French, you could introduce french words into the conversation, and that would compliment your accent;)

accents are awesome... most guys would find a hot woman much more attractive n sexy if she had an accent... its a great turn on.. so dont worry... just play cool... :D ;)
