Just as the title reads, do you? If so post pics or GTFO.

My dog. (chrish.100megs42.com/pictures/Sid_1024_5.jpg) She's a Dobe/something. Most say Lab so I tend to go with that.

Nope. No pets, unless you count my Koi and they aren't really pets.

I grew up with animals, always a dog or two, or three and cats, cats, cats. I had dogs, cats, iguana, ferrets, ducks, chickens, turkeys, parakeets, canaries, pigeons, a goose, rabbits and a goat,

When my kids were growing up we had pets.

Now that my wife and I are retired we no longer have pets. When our last dog died we decided to not get another one. we travel a lot and it wouldn't be fair to have a pet.

As the saying goes, "True freedom is when the last kid moves out and the dog dies."

I have a Pitbull / Rottweiler mix and a Malamute / Golden Retriever mix. I used to have a different pitbull, but it died, and I've gone through 5 cats.

Those pitbulls though, they're the sweetest dogs ever.

my grandparents had a farm (my grandmother still has it but dont know what she will do with it now she doesnt have pop) my cousins (who lived next door where as we lived in the city) refused to eat lamb because "it came from nan and pops padocks". The idiocy of that was that we city slickers were quite happy to eat lamb vertually fresh from the padock. Some of the best lamb i have ever had actually

That reminds me of Kramer in Seinfeld...

Although I have to ask, if your parents live in the city, where do they keep the chickens?? I mean, that has to be a real pain in the ass keeping chickens in the city..

actually its not really. Firstly by the city i was refering to the suberbs, they have a normal quarter acre block (sorry as i said one half of my family is country so i have picked up some of there speach). Secondly dad built them a cage thats about 5m x 5m x 3m (i think) that ataches to the vegi garden so they can let the choocks straight into the garden in the off season. Also they let them out to wander around the back yard normally and the 2 dogs protect them and have no problem with them. They feed them household scraps so and get eggs and good fertiliser out of them. They also turn over the soil in the veg garden and fertize it so they get even better veg

We were farmers, mainly poultry. We had a couple thousand chickens, Plymouth Rocks, Rhode Island Reds and Black Jersey Giants, plus Muscovy Ducks. We also raised a few turkeys, pigeons (squab) and rabbits for personal consumption. The goat and goose were pets.

Most of the dogs and cats were to keep down vermin.

We had plain white ducks, my uncle had Muscovy's. They were a lot more agressive and bigger. They were like geese in ducks clothing. Did you have an Guinea hens? We did. noisy noisy

Nah he's never bitten anyone. He barks when people knock on the door, but once we let someone in he goes and takes a nap or something. He really loves cameras, any time he sees one he'll pose until he hears the click, then gets all excited that he did such a good job :p

that explains it. If I had seen the cat in an earlier stage, I would have made a diagnosis and a cure, you would follow my instructions...and the cat would be alive and well. The main point to remember here is that we all die someday, so it's ok. We are reborn oncemore later, as cats or humans or other creatures of this world.

we can store the memory of our pets just before they die and reprogram into the cloned pets grown from the stem cells and than when time comes the company will monitor if the pet dies and will immedeatly replace it with the clone without anyone knowing...Courtesy of the company. Furthermore the practice will be insured for ages.

If however pet owners realize that their pets have died and our now clone no#34 or something like that (33 have died...and this is number 34 clone) than the pet owners themselves can be reprogrammed to delete unnecessary information of knowledge of their pet death to a more favorable memory of a pet that lives forever.

The World Pet Database will store the DNA information of all pets as well as samples of their stem cells in case anything happens. The same will be applied of humans. If humans become pets of some sort of alien species from outerspace...than those alien species can always replace their human pets with new cloned ones...and further on...and etc.

cats....almost same story...the poor cat was told to go pee to toilet only and nowhere else...One day we (me and my grandma) come from church and find the cat going back and forth near the bathroom door, so we open the door and the cat rushes in to pee, but accidently ( I am not making this up) hits the sink with such a force that it cracks and breaks apart, and than the cat pees...but before the cat finishes to pee, my grandma is in rage because the sink broke so she takes the cat and throws it outside the apartment into the hallway...the poor kitty runs away. To be never heard of. And whenever I ask neighbors or kids on the block...they are like "oh yeah that cat that got run over twice by a car?" ...or "wait...thats the cat that was burned in a gurbige sink by a bunch of kids?, right?"...or even better...."yeah bunch of kids got the cat and put it into a compartment and sealed it with cemented bricks for forever".... The crustaceans and molluscs I eat get humanely euthenased ( chilled in the fridge 'til they go into suspended animation then die).
I also kill fish, they get the Japanese method of ike jima, very swift.

The cat and my family get fresh seafood, one of the lowest footprint ( ecological footprint, you know, cost of production, fuel, fertilisers, pesticides etc.) foodsources there is.

At the moment no. I have had many. I had a cat named 'Ninga' that beat of a rotweiler! Now he is staying with my brother-in-law, Another one that comes to mind is the mighty cat 'Fuzzy', she learned to stop killing birds after I had a 'talk' with her. She was the wisest cat I have ever known. She passed on. I had a dream she was reborn as a Tiger.

The crustacean crab and my family get fresh mammals, one of the lowest footprint ( ecological footprint, you know, cost of production, fuel, fertilisers, pesticides etc.) foodsources there is.

We had plain white ducks, my uncle had Muscovy's. They were a lot more agressive and bigger. They were like geese in ducks clothing. Did you have an Guinea hens? We did. noisy noisy

Yeah, Muscovy Ducks can be pretty feisty. They also have serrations on their bill and an egg tooth that can make a nip something to remember.

We kept a few Guinea Hens as watchdogs. They and the goose made lots of noise whenever a stranger was in the vicinity.

Yeah Sandy, he's adorable, only just 12 months old and has personality to burn, loves a chat, drinks wine with me, great with the kids, very funny, very relaxed, very social, loves the beach.
He's a Tonkinese ( Siamese/Burmese derivative).

And yes, they were wild ones. No, I didn't actually watch her do it, she used to go wandering across fields/woodlands to find them. I just saw her dragging them in through my back gate. Sometimes they were still alive and she brought them home to strangle, usually though they were dead. The local dogs were afraid of her.

:)
So your cat roams free then, right ?
How would you like it if next door's monitor lizard ate your cat one day ? (not referring to your cat eating rabbits :))

Just as the title reads, do you?

I currently have 4 tarantulas, a theraphosa leblondi (Goliath Bird Eater), a brachypelma baumgarteni (Mexican Orange Beauty), a pternochilus sp. (Usumbara Baboon) and a Eucratoscelus pachypus (Stout-Leg Baboon). I also have 1 pogona vitticeps (Bearded Dragon) and 1 python regius (Ball Python)...

They are baboon tarantulas. See Usumbara Baboon (http://images.google.com/images?&q=usambara+baboon&btnG=Search+Images) and Stout-Leg Baboon (http://images.google.com/images?&q=stout+leg+baboon&btnG=Search+Images)

Depending on the species (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monitor_lizard) they can range from a foot or so up to 10 feet, Varanus komodoensis (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Komodo_Dragon). Some can run at a pretty fast rate as well.

Yup, I used to "rescue" my cats from wild cats all the time. The guy who lost his eye was a handsome brown tiger kitty and with some care, his wound sealed up very clean. He got used to his changed perspective and went back to being the neighborhood Lothario; though he milked it for all he was worth.

Another time, a cat was injured in a dog fight, he wasn't our cat, but I cajoled him in and cleaned him up, his lower right paw was bitten through and was amputated, but he too recovered and got over his handicap. Took a long time for his wound to heal completely though and he always seemed surprised when he could not scratch behind his ear with it. (He adopted us some, coming to visit once in a few days for a very long time).

I did not try to rescue birds and such from my cats though, I preferred for them to have some ability to look out for themselves, apart from the food they got at home.

These two guys really, really love pets, especially dogs.

(AP) - Two former golf club employees are charged with theft and cruelty to animals in the death of a pet dog the owners say was cooked and eaten. An Oahu grand jury indicted Saturnino Palting, 58, and Nelson Domingo, 43, both of Kalihi.
They were accused of stealing a dog owned by Frank Manuma who lost his 8-month-old German shepherd-Labrador mix named Caddy.
Manuma had taken Caddy to the Moanalua Golf Club with him on Dec. 16 and left the dog tied up at an equipment shack when he disappeared. Manuma said police told him the two men slaughtered and ate the pet belonging to him and his wife, Debbie Weil-Manuma.
The charges are both felonies punishable by up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

And just how did they prove that they ate the dog if nothing was left behind to find?
