White students are rarely if ever banned from organizations that promote racial unity, they usually just don't come. I think the authors mentioned in the article are looking way to hard for a simple answer. The fact minority students congregate, doesn't really seem all that difficult to figure out to me, but then I'm a minority.

Groups formed through common race in schools always exist. I don't see them often in Australia, but when I do, I often try to find out if it's in "response to a stressor" or, just because they share the same character traits.

There is no "enforcement" of these so-called "counter-spaces", let alone violent enforcement.

james, maybe you can answer this for me. Why is it that student unions who are reciving limited funding from VSU are chosing (or being forced to) spend that money on things like womens only rooms which provide services (like free coffee) which arnt avaliable to the whole student population

Unlike the guy who asked why there isnt a mens only room i really dont care about the area ITSELF but it REALLY irritates me that i have to pay for my coffee while women can get it for free

The other thing that irritates me is that they are provided with books rather than putting them in the libary for everyone to access.

Student amentities are SURPOSED to be accessable by all students but they are ditching things like the shrinks (the docs are easy because they are still paid by medicare) while providing gender only services

I probably should have complained but meh... anyway, that's bullshit.

That's obviously illegal, and I'm fairly certain any liberal you ask here will want those blacks punished. Is this really the type of physical force you mean in your OP's question? If yes, you're going to get an almost unanimous no, from both sides of the political spectrum.
