Do corporations have any moral responsibility?

The Chinese police state is a great investment says US hedge funds.

The US economy may be on decline but US hedge funds investors considers the Chinese police state to be a good investment for our global economy.

“China’s Hot Stock: Orwell Inc” is the headlines over an article in the NYTimes published September 19, 2007.

“In a stunning report in the New York Times last week, correspondent Keith Bradsher documented the rise of China's electronic surveillance industry, whose leading companies have incorporated themselves in the United States and obtained the lion's share of their capital from U.S. hedge funds. Though ostensibly private, these companies are a for-profit adjunct of the Chinese government.”

They are like a virus. They do what they want when they want to whom ever they want. They mutate so as not to get caught stealing from the poor to help themselves as well as their stockholders. They step on everything they can and buy off politicians to insure that their goals are met. They are a plague on humanity today and should be......

What is your understanding if the word 'morality' that allows you to make such a judgment?

You don't need understanding to have morals. In fact it might hinder them.

No, because they aren't capable of having moral judgement. In fact the existence of the corporation may decrease feelings of moral responsibility among the individuals who work for them--since they perceive the corporation as the actor and not themselves as individuals.

Personally I think it's absurd that corporations have the rights of persons but can't be held responsible under the law in the same way people can.

A corporation is not a person, it is an entity

a government is not a person, it is an entity, hence also does not have any moral responsibility?

Your reasoning is flawed.

Your reasoning is flawed.

Governments have moral responsibility? Where? Can a government be held accountable? Sent to prison? Put to death? Asked to pay damages for poor performance?

In fact, through the legal system, government defines what morality is. For people.
