Will there be, in the future, any device or equipment where by just scanning the body with this equipment you can diagnose what disease you have?

Is it possible to have such a 'star trek' technology?

Well, to a degree I think you can say that such devices exist now. :) The various scanning techniques of today (X-ray, CAT, PET, MRI, fMRI) can accurately diagnose various pathologies and ailments. Strictly speaking, I suppose you cannot say that they are completely non-invasive as PET and MRI rely on the injection of radioactive isotopes into the blood stream.<P>

What sort of diseases are you referring to?
Genome wide microarrays have the potential to diagnose any genetic disease a person is born with. But first, every genes' role in the body would need to be uncovered, and every genetic disease would need to be linked with a gene. Plus there are some limitations that come to mind. :)
Still, microarrays are a pretty good start.
