If your having a disagreement with some one, and your being calm and collective, and the other person is swearing, and insulting does that mean they are loosing the arguement?

Because it seems to me that, people who insult people have just run out of things to say about they're arguement!

Its a way of filling a void...within themselves.

No. Simply because an opponent retreats, it doesn't mean an argument is resolved. Far far from.

In fact, it is rather suspicious that an opponent suddenly turns "calm and collective" in face of an opposition, otherwise the strain of opposition would never have been forged to begin with. It's more of a sham, really, and a tactic used by the hypocritical.

Such tactics also serve to deflect an opponent's "negative" energy back to it's source, whereupon an opponent will overcharge with heated and frustrated energy (a tactic hardly done in good will because it augments bad vibes—not help diminish them).

But if an opponent truly becomes "calm and collective" judiciously during a heated argument, then that calm and collectedness will naturally seek to spread out: the opponent will sense this overpowering "good" judgment, like a rough wind winding down—the "positive" vibes, and, because it's a positive display of good will, will be encouraged and guided to also calm down. And if that fails, then one would have the sense, in their calm, to exit obligingly.

And usually that person yells as well. As if volume makes them right.

I suppose tantrums worked as toddlers, so they resort to it every time, and they continue to use it. Some family dynamics I never understand. Those spoiled brats are in for a rude awakening when they go out in the world. Their parents have done them no favors.

Predetermined judgment masquerading as psychology: another tactic.

Its another tactic for what? Who are you predetermining judgment on? The tantrum thrower or the person staying calm?

Uh....Geezus, it's so obvious. If all someone is replying back is profanity without any context then of course, their is no argument, just insults. But an individual can still be correct with an argument with added metaphors. Is a car still a vehicle if i add a zillion daisy stickers? An individual can also completely lose an argument with no profanity when the base of thier argument is hypocritical or untrue to begin with no matter how "calm" they try to be. So evidently, according to yall's real life experience, a snakeoil salesman with a nonthreatening persona must be speaking the truth simply due to their demeanor. lmao

You people really do have the brains of a fruitloop. So much real wisdom from life experience as well.

See? I just made a little insult. Now if i had used profanity in place of the innocent "fruitloop", my point would still be valid.

    Was that too difficult? Omigawd

Appearance is "everything" to most of us, but.
If you see a banged-up wreck being driven around, you don't generally think something like: "gee, that's a great-looking car, I bet the driver's really cool".

I think up really stoopid looking monikers. This intentional "labeling ritual" is designed to catch anyone out who might think I'm some kind of dumb-ass.

Maybe I am a dumb-ass for thinking that it's a valid principle. However I do believe that names are important, and obviously (to me, anyway) people with "dumb" names are often considered to have some kind of personality fault or other (check out what happens to people who aren't native English speakers on some forums).

I have found that some (children who think they're all grownup) appear to adopt this notion ("this guy must be real dumb to come up with a name like that") quite readily.
    Psychology in action.

what would you all a dumb name?

some people who use names, use them because they mean somthing to them, example i am called "lucifers angel" because there is a song called lucifers angel that my husband says reminds him of me

Hardly, it could very well also mean that they are discussing something with a complete dickhead.

so calling them a dickhead has nothing to do with the argument and everything to do with losing your temper? How would calling them a dickhead help the argument?

By calling someone a name you show your superior ways in putting others

down and therefore come away feeling you have won. It is all an ego

    related type of thing.
