View Full Version : Dialled 911? airavata 05-21-03, 06:20 AM has anyone here ever dialled 911? and if so, why? Whyatt Thrash 05-21-03, 07:32 AM Saw a dude who took out a lot of money at an ATM late at night, which led me to believe the ATM card was stolen. He was acting weird, so I got suspicious and called the cops, gave his description and told where he was. When he walked away, I saw him trying the locks of parked cars. So I guess I was right. Cops never did do nothing though. Maveric 05-21-03, 07:49 AM i was trying to type a mobile number into a payphone, but the payphone was only meant for landline calls and did not allow the amount of numbers i was typing (i didnt realise) and it just so happend to stop as i was pressing the '9' and i thought i just didnt work, so tapped the 9 a couple of times and the operator came up, and gave me a bollacking for hoax calling, i was trying to apologise but she was freaking out swearing at me and stuff and i just thought, 'put the phone down, and it will be ok' put it down, and the next person who used the phone came out of the booth shouting 'who hoax called 999?'....i was very red. cthulhus slave 05-21-03, 08:23 AM well atleast i know who called the cops on me.. thanx a lot trash. but rlly. id recamend iether following the guy and find out about him first too make sure. geting an inocint dude arrested will get people mad at you. or follow him and get the number of the car he takes or a building he goes to and then black mail him for a couple hundred. besides the cops never do anything. if your consernd you should take care of it yourself. if you feel tha it must be done do it yourself. dont rely on others. as for having dialed 911 i have never done it. nope. besides you should only use it for life and death things. like if theres a killer in the house and hes already gotten every1 eles. not for simply reporting crime. for that call the normal cops. or as i said. deal with it yourself. if he was trying to get an unlocked car he probably didnt have a gun or hed have just stolen one. u coulda jumped him with a knife and gotten all the loot. from what u described he was probably trying to get some running cash and already had a ton of mulla in his coat. it would have been sweet pay man... real sweet... besides maybe he wasnt looking to rob/hijack a car. maybe he was cheking them so if he found one unlocked he could lock it fo rthem and do a good deed. and perhaps he was a good citizen who was simply geting some cash to go buy a ticket to see his mom cause he didnt have a cheking acount or a card and needed cash monny to pay the air fair. this is the new world bud. gotta give erm the benifit of the dought or you musnt expect them to keep the cops off you the next time you lock your keys in the house and have to climb in a window. live and let live i say... sry got off topic and ranted... lol. as i said ive never called 911. but my neghbors did once when i was seting off some *cogh cogh *things* cogh* in the backyard. sheesh.. a guy cant even test detonoators w/o geting jumped. the police car drove up too lat tho.. the wind blew the smoke away and i fileld in the pit the cap was detonated in.they were prob bussy eating donuts n' twinkies when they had to go. an some1 down the street called when they founf some strangled puppies in the creek.. they thought it was me... but it wasnt. they had no proof tho. point is: police when nessacery. use when needed. if you can then do it yourselves. dont waste our tax mnny on psuado reports. ok... im done rambling 4 now. ta ta... Tyler 05-21-03, 08:49 AM Sure, at parties. Last Saturday a party at a friend's house had the cops called around 1:30 AM by the girl because of the fights going on. Incidentally, when she called I was outside with a few others trying to get the guys who were starting the shit to leave. Now the cops figured that since they'd been to the party earlier (at the request of neighboors), and nothing had looked that bad, they wouldn't bother showing up for ages. So I was outside until 2 in the morning when those guys finally left. Then three minutes later the cops showed up. Lazy bastards! airavata 05-21-03, 09:38 AM So I was outside until 2 in the morning when those guys finally left. Then three minutes later the cops showed up. Lazy bastards! yup. i think that's pretty much the universal consensus. lazy as hell. :p sargentlard 05-21-03, 09:41 AM Ha ..you should see the cops in India:D airavata 05-21-03, 09:50 AM Ha ..you should see the cops in India cops? :bugeye: what cops? :D half baked gormless jokers. sargentlard 05-21-03, 10:02 AM You mean more like store bought protection for the rich...seriously why don't they just put a "For sale" sign on themselves and offer their services to the highest bidder....saves the conterversy and trouble of hiding things. airavata 05-21-03, 10:34 AM another thing i can't understand, is why they have such massive guns, as tall as themselves. seriously, by the time they load the gun, the criminal would've long gone. i think the guns are more for show than anything else. sargentlard 05-21-03, 10:41 AM Originally posted by airavata another thing i can't understand, is why they have such massive guns, as tall as themselves. seriously, by the time they load the gun, the criminal would've long gone. i think the guns are more for show than anything else. You mean the revolvers..(i think they still have revolvers)....yeah i know of those big guns..they wanna look scary when i reality they are scared themselves. As for revolvers well they are terribly unefficient. I am thinking once you stress the ammo of the 6 bullets it would take a significant amount of time to reload that gun....just get handguns already to kill people faster. Even if the criminals runaway they'll find him later and beat the living crap out of him;) ..they seem to easily find criminals that have no underworld backing to them and criminals that attacked rich, influential people. airavata 05-21-03, 10:44 AM Even if the criminals runaway they'll find him later and beat the living crap out of him ..they seem to easily find criminals that have no underworld backing to them and criminals that attacked rich, influential people. hehn, too true. also most of the security guards are so scrawny, a strong gust of wind would blow them away. sargentlard 05-21-03, 10:47 AM Agreed...these guys are horibbly underpaid and all they can afford to feed themselves and their families are boiled potatoes. No wonder bribery is rampant in the police system...goddamn the pay does not keep up with the inflation in the economy also the threat of the underworld is to strong to face for these guys alone. airavata 05-21-03, 10:59 AM also the threat of the underworld is to strong to face for these guys alone. excpet perhaps in bombay. seriously the encounter cops are scary. dribbler 05-21-03, 12:17 PM yeah, i just did. airavata 05-21-03, 12:20 PM hehn... mind elaborating a bit? I didn't think the cops'd really do anything, i rather thought it'd give the guy who got his card stolen an easier ride if there was some sort of police report of the event. machaon 05-21-03, 10:52 PM has anyone here ever dialled 911? and if so, why? Yes. I dialed 911 because my roomate never really had a good explanation of why he felt he needed to peddle weapons grade plutonium to chinese owned companies. But it did not take the feds long to realize that I was just joking. My roomate was not amused. But he rarely is seeing how I am married to the twin sister of his dead wife. river-wind 05-22-03, 11:22 AM dude, that's just wierd. I've called 911 for the following reasons: 1)when I was 7. I was dared to hit 911, then hang up real fast. didn't know that the 911 operator could call back to make sure everything was ok. I got grounded for that one. 2)3 car accidents, never been in one, but been First Responder medical care giver. 3)my Mom started screeming in pain, through she was dying. turned out she was passing kidney stones, which is supposed to be one of the most painful things 4)2 times in college for people who had drunk so much they passed out, hurled in their sleep, and then began showing signs of respitory distress. my roomate has called for the following reasons (that I know of) 1)once while I was out because out downstairs neighbors had a friend over who was smoking heroin. he collapsed, and stopped breathing. the guy ended up dying. 2)4 car accidents, he was only involved in one of them. the last one was two weeks ago, a guy on a motercycle wied out right in front of the house. I come home from work to "dude, I'm really sorry, but your sweatshirt is toast. I had to put out a fire on this guy's back with it". 0_0 I said it was ok 3)once when he broke his leg hiking. he caleld and got himself airlifted out. gotta love cell phones. 4)a whole crap load of times while a member of search and rescue. Closet Philosopher 05-22-03, 06:26 PM When my deck caught on fire, and my fire extinguisher wouldn't work, and the water happened to be off for three hours that day because of repairs. I thought it would be a good idea for the fire department to save my house :) |
