The US Senate has voted to approve a bill which requires US troops to be withdrawn from Iraq within 11 months.

President George Bush has said he will veto the Democratic-sponsored bill, which was also passed by the House of Representatives on Wednesday.

Of course, it's not a surprise the president is going to veto it because what does he care about the majority of representatives of the electorate.

Now read this:

Republicans dismissed the bill as a futile stunt, since although the Democrats control both houses of Congress, they do not have enough votes to overrule a presidential veto.

The republican party is not interested in what the majority of representatives want to do. Moreover, they see this as a game to push their own agenda, even if it represents a minority. This is an attitude people. A bad one. They want the other party to give up because they have a president that can veto. An attitude of superiority complex. 'We can veto. You just play dead'

But I guess nobody cares.

Now wait just a damned minute, folks, this is exactly the way our governmental system is set up ...it's been this way for umpty-eleven years now with no challenges to it's legality or Constitutionality.

What I find interesting is that, if things were going "your" way, you'd be happy with the system as is. Ya' can't have it both ways, ya' know?

That's because we've never had a president abuse their executive powers as much as this administration has, so it wasn't as much of a worry in the past. And here we thought FDR's 3rd term and Japanese camps were bad..

Oh yeah. I remember you saying the same thing when the Republicans controlled congress and the Democrats were using the filibuster to promote a minority agenda.

Wait a minute. You didn't complain then. Could it be you're just a big hypocrite?
