For all of you who know Delerium, and those of you who dont, go out and buy their CD Chimera. Its simply awesome.... truly.. haha, thats the name of one of the songs :)

Im a fan of some of their stuff, but alot of their other music really... well sucks... There are lots of good ones though and this CD is completely good... just great music....

Today, I just bought "Conjure One" which is Rhys Fulber's solo project. Not bad, definately a Delerium influence of course.... different and good in its own right.

Hard to describe.... Chimera is just good listening music, female vocals.... Listen to the snippits at amazon.com... in particular "Truly" and "Just a Dream" and use the Windows Media Player Versions, the amazon.com play list thing sucks

I'm a little late to this thread :D

Delerium is awesome but I've been let down a little since Poem / Chimera.

Tristan, don't you think Conjure One is more delerium than is poem/chimera?

Also did you catch the guys in concert this summer/fall? Luckily they came to Detroit and I was there at the front. It was amazing. If you want to see pix lemme know i got a few.

:m:

Yeah, conjure one has heavy delerium influence. But I still really like Poem and Chimera. Chimera is a little more appealing to the popular culture but still very unique. Its not as radical in sound scapes as the others but still very cool. I like it. Same with poem, which is more of a chill out CD.

A delerium Cd that just didnt make sense to me: Semantic Spaces
It was like random noises, I couldnt stand it. The first songs of delerium I ever heard were like Euporia and Firefly, so thats the type of music I relate them to.

This is Leeb/Fulber with Kristy & Shelly & the beautiful and talented singer (forget her name right now) from Conjure One.
Hartland did Silence and MAN imo she did it better than McLachlan.

A delerium Cd that just didnt make sense to me: Semantic Spaces

This is very odd. I rank delerium work as #1) Karma #2) Semantic #3) Morpheus 4) Poem 5) Chimera.

There is no dobut in my mind Karma is my most favourite cd out of everything i own. This is why I was utterly shocked with Chimera/Poem as the follow ups to Karma. I really want a *true* sucessor to Karma.

But Poem/Chimera are "ok" pop cds. Both are few traditional delerium tracks (inner sanctum, sanctuary) but are more geared toward mainstream charts than toward the fans.

I was skeptical going into the concert that Leeb/Fulber will only perform most of Chimera but they did most of the songs that night from Semantic/Karma.

It was like random noises, I couldnt stand it.

Difference of opinion, i guess. I see lots of structure and beauty in those songs. For example, Metamorphosis is VERY powerful track. Depending on the mood it can be interperted as a happy tune or as a 'i wanna die to this playing' tune. :D

Delerium's roots are very much "random noises" if you look at Front Line Assembly, you shall see. SS had some aspects of that and Karma became very refined and turned into a PERFECT peice of work I dont think any other artist will ever top, for me.
