View Full Version : Death Poems
c20H25N3o 10-28-04, 02:25 PM I love death! Been into death since I was quite young, morbid soul that I am.
Death to me is the ultimate trip, it mocks everything that lives!
Sooo...
Poems about death please ... make them your own - not ripped off the net ... as gross as you like or as pretty as you like, come on lets have your inner thoughts on death spilled out in typeface for all to see and revel in
I'll start it off with a tiny one ...
From the moment I enter
From a dark tunnel
I fall
Towards the earth
Caught for a moment
To suckle at life's milk
Then snatched away
By that jealous One
She who sent that Mocking Angel, Death
And so I exit
Through a bright tunnel
Into Her Arms
Where She 'tuts'
And draws me closer, closer
To be with Her forever
cheers

gendanken 10-28-04, 11:33 PM His curly pubic hair laced with cream, a smell of death whistled through my soldier's anus.
I loved those limbs- like metal scaffolding wrapped in meat, his penis just as meaty and throbbing with its veins I almost thought it was an elder's neck bloated with arthristis.
Those veins are nursing syphillis.
I heard this a long time ago if anybody can give me an idea where it's from I'd be most grateful :)
Memory permitting.
Death is before me today like my lovers touch after the heat of battle.
Death is before me today like the rains that follow the dry seasons.
Death is before me today like walking out into a garden after a long illness
There's more but it's mostly forgotten, oh, and something about galley slaves.
Have fun!

Here's one of my own..
The Doctors Lament
I met a man who wouldn't die.
He wouldn't die yesterday.
He should be dead
not sat in bed
He shouldn't look pink but grey.
I met a man who wouldn't die.
He wouldn't die today.
His wife, she weeps
as his heart still beats
But tomorrow I will get my way!
:D
Don't tell anybody I wrote that.

there once was a man from nantucket...he's dead now.
invert_nexus 10-29-04, 01:11 AM Here's one I wrote a while back for the poem thread.
The thing about this poem is that it only appears to be about death. It's actually about life. However, one might consider that Death in the tarot doesn't signify an end to life but rather a transformation. This is key.
A Funeral
I killed a man today.
In the cluttered halls I wander.
I killed him.
His face, a mirror,
reflecting back my own mien.
His face, an affront.
My face, not his.
The library,
My place of learning.
Stacked high with
Works of the ages.
Closely stacked, leaning,
The works of my life.
The library,
My place of murder,
He read a book,
My book, not his.
For this I killed him.
I slashed him with fury,
I slashed him with love,
I removed his visage
To use later.
I removed his eyes,
To remind me of him.
I removed him to the garden,
The place of my somnolescence.
I buried him
amidst my dreams.
While digging
the grave deeply.
I discovered others
Similarly dispatched.
Who did this,
I wondered briefly.
But soon lost interest,
as I turned to my books.
To my wisdom of the ages.
To the lore which birthed me.
I discovered a book
which I had not read.
I settle down in my favorite chair
to read and learn.
There are footfalls
in the hall.
But, I cannot be bothered.

Something I just wrote, thinking of Psalm 55:
My heart is sore pained within me:
A bright day's afternoon:
and the terrors of death are fallen upon me.
that sun will one day go out for me.
Fearfulness and trembling
And it feels like
are come upon me,
nothing --
and horror hath overwhelmed me.
but why am I scared?
And I said,
Because when my eyes won't see that sun anymore,
Oh that I had wings like a dove!
I dread that
for then would I fly away, and be at rest.
no eyes will ever look into mine again.
Nuttyfish 10-30-04, 03:09 PM Ah, Death Poems...the other art form. Nevertheless, here's my submission. Remember, these are the rantings of a poetic newbie. Excuse my crappiness...
I saw a grey man in the woods today,
I found myself wishing he'd go away.
He moved ever closer, his hand in his coat,
He thrust out his arm and took hold of my throat.
Breath was cut like scissors to a rope,
And though I struggled, I just couldn't cope.
Twisting and writhing, I screamed out in pain,
I kicked and I bit, but all was in vain.
The man had a knife in his strong, greasy grip,
He ran it teasingly, down my face to my lip.
The pain was short as the knife cut my heart,
I could feel myself drifting slowly apart.
Like smoke on the wind, life faded away,
I let myself go, let nature do what it may.
I saw a grey man in the woods today,
I found myself wishing he'd go away.
Dr Lou Natic 10-30-04, 09:48 PM Oprah bought me a bike yippee
One of the dogs has his head inside me
He's devouring my innards and spirit
While I lay awake experiencing it
I can look at them and they look at me
I can smell them and smell parts of myself I didn't want to see
Where are you shock?
You have betrayed me
What is that smell?
Oh, so that is where shit comes from
Right out of that tube they're tugging on
ha, well I'll be
My mother has aids you see
And she tends to shit alot
I mean all the time
When I'm angry I call her a stinky bitch
I laughed when it ran down her leg to her feet
But the lycaons made me shit on my bike seat
I also pissed myself and farted numerous times during the chase
Oprah bought me a bike because my mother has aids
Jokes on her
I'm secretly a little faggot
you crazy baby bathsheba, i wancha
you're suffocating you need a good shed
i'm tired of living, shebe, so gimme

you get torn down and get erected
my blood is working but my, my heart is
dead

uriah hit the crapper, the crapper
uriah hit the crapper, the crapper
uriah hit the crapper, the crapper
dead

Dr Lou Natic 10-30-04, 11:17 PM The Bad Mother Rap
My child was paralysed by a tick
I found her covered in ants, it made me sick
I started brushing them off in time's nick
But she was gone
And my neck had a crick
I started fucking myself with a stick
I reached climax
On her face splashed my slick
It sealed her eyelids
I prayed for a dick
But one eye opened
She was fully conscious
shit
A tear came out of her eye
And then another
What if she told her brother?
I bashed her head in with a stone and went to smother
After telling her that I
Had never loved her
Yo it felt great
Cause I'm a bad mother
Bom
Bom
Bom
So check it out

Thats a beautiful poem - the 'first person' poems take you right into the heart of the author!

Oh, Heaven's distant! My paradise is lost
and perfect silence lulls a loving heart to sleep
where hope abides, but silent gates still keep
a fitful rest with dreams of dungeons vile and deep
where without thy beauty silent sorrows weep
these tears of poetry - that soothe my aching heart -
that drip down walls of older sorrows cold to touch
and warm them for a while, softly, not overmuch,
enough to recall memories, or hopes, where todays tomorrow stays
Yet they trickle down, and one into another flows, like rays,
which together form the sun that lights my lonely days
And squint to find a life that does not enslave
a light that can wake me from this grave.

c20H25N3o 11-04-04, 05:07 AM Now entirely jealous of Jenyar's efforts I feel compelled to write another such is the nature of good healthy brotherly competition
I saw the carcass of a rabbit
As a child untouched and lovely
The smell was sickly but also sweet
It told me much, this rabbit at my feet
I touched it gingerly with my toe
Rocked its head to and fro
Wondering why the flies buzzed so
This rabbit at my feet
The rib cage open
Maggots inside
I looked on in wonder with eyes open wide
I'll never forget that image you see
Of the rabbit that once played so merrily
The life that was in it
That life now all gone
My life will rise too
As beautiful song
Of one who played here
And one who played there
One who looked at the night sky and wondered and stared
Oh the wonders above and the horrors below
Yes my spirit will rise
Theres a place I must go.
actually it's not as good as Jenyar's but hey ho ;)
peace
